First half of Edessa/Ilayna's bio is amended, now I have to fill in the "what she did from age eight to age twenty-four" blanks and design narrative after that. Originally my idea was to group up (somehow) with the people in Valaria/Valeal before going into the Gorgon plot stuff, but I'm not sure how tangible that is. Feel free to workshop/suggest stuff to help me there. I'll be working on the rest of the bio right now.
The rumors going around that the Blackwaters are planning to retake the throne are just that, rumors. Likely started by the Blackwater supporters, there are many. Although there are a great deal of disgruntled nobles in Gorgon who want the Brairs taken off the throne, there isn't really much unification amung them, because no one agrees who should be the king among them. When they hear news that a child of Arthur Blackwater is still alive, they would likely rally together to put a Blackwater back on the throne. Although Lucien is technically the heir, the fact that he betrayed his kingdom means no one wants to see him on the throne. Which could raise some interesting angles with him possibly trying to start a faction, maybe mostly mercenaries, to reclaim the throne. That however would require a great deal of money which he doesn't have. You're character, despite being a female, is still a Blackwater. The disgruntled Gorgon lords would probably rather see a woman on the throne then a Briar, but more then that they would probably try to wed themselves to you, which would give their House a claim on the throne. My recommendation would be to play out either the Valeal / Valaria storyline for a while, while subtly leaving a papertrail of your lineage. That way when someone puts the clues together and discovers a Blackwater is still alive, the news will reach Gorgon and a hunt will likely begin between the Briars and the Blackwater Loyalists to see who can get to the claimant first.
