He looked just as confused as she was, expression turning to panic when he realized that he couldn't control his body. “I- What? T-this isn’t a side effect of using- Wha-! Watch out! Move!” She ducked to the side following his warning, his punch missing. The magic surrounding it was still weak, only a weak warble that coated the fist but his following punch drew in the sounds around them, concentrating it into one point. Perhaps it was due the ringmaster controlling Lute or perhaps she just didn't know how fast Lute could be, but she wasn't able to duck away from the next blow in time. Aria threw her arms up just in time to block his punch from driving into her chest. The punch, strengthened with his magic was enough to send her flying, eyes clenched shut at the barrage of sound that followed. She hit the ground and rolled sideways just as Lulu drove another punch down to where she had been moments earlier. She barely had time to scan for Poppy in case she was going to take advantage of the situation, but instead she spotted the girl on the ground and Trixie firing at the male ringleader. Was he the source of all this? Lute's cry of alarm made her duck away, him darting past her. she expected him to whip around and took on a defensive stance again, but instead he tripped and fell on his face as a wet sounding slap echoed through the tent. A quick glance showed that the ringleader had been momentarily distracted by a glorious fishslap courtesy of Lucy, and the illusionist took the opportunity run in his direction. Her way was blocked by the gigantic plush bear and she arrived just in time to pull Trixie, who had been fumbling for more ammunition out of the way of its tackle. "I don't suppose you have any more smoke bombs to distract them with? We need to get to the fancy coat guy!"
