You have to see it this way xD Soldiers of the Royal Army probably have a same martial training if not better martial training and discipline. A single Guardian fighting another soldier is nothing more than a well trained soldier/warrior with in-depth knowledge of magic. Send a group of men to take him down and a Guardian is still as vulnerable as any other soldier/warrior.
