Adam held her for a few seconds before her arms wrapped around him. She felt small and innocent in his arms, like the slightest wrong movement and he could break her. In a way, it made him feel slightly protective. "You're welcome." He whispered back, and planted a small kiss on the top of her head, After holding her for a few long moments he pulled back, slowly dislodging himself from her grip. The silence that followed was both awkward and comfortable. Awkward because Adam had no idea what to say or do, a first for him, and comfortable because nothing really needed to be said. "We should probably go back. I need to get Avril back to my house." he finally broke the silence after what seemed like forever. With a decision in mind, he turned on his heels and headed for the door. Why was it that she always found herself standing a hair's breath away from Jason? It seemed to be her favorite place to stand. She stood there, listening to him get angry, not knowing what to do to stop it. "Jason..." she started about the time his arms wrapped around her waist. Her voice and heart stopped as his breath slid against her cheek. "I didn't mean..." she turned as he stormed to the door. "Jason, I'm sorry!" she called just as the door slammed. Avril stared at the door for several long moments, then pulled Adam's coat around her tiny frame and hugged herself. Since when did she care what a vampire thought? With a sigh she sat down at one of the desks. Now to wait for Adam to some let her out of the cage he made for her.
