People all around the world play it and it quickly escalated to the top of the lists in just a few months, thanks to its versatility and constant updates that keep the game interesting, along with a great attention to what fans say and write on their blogs or in the official page of NTO. Known for almost always granting the fans' whims, one of them thought it would be a good idea to suggest something jokingly, 'If only we could live in New Terra'...... You were a common player, maybe even a boring person. Maybe, the only thing you could brag about was about how powerful your character in New Terra Online was. At least, you were. One morning, you woke up in a foreign land, wearing clothes you had never seen before, or maybe you had. Desperate, like many others, you started wandering about and, in a lucky turn of your head, your eyes posed over a mirror, and there you saw it. Your face. Maybe, it was like yours, maybe it wasn't, maybe the sex didn't even match, but the one returning your gaze through the mirror was that. Your New Terra Online avatar. Many panicked, others remained calm, others saw it as an opportunity. That's what may have happened to you, anyway. The new inhabitants of the world of New Terra Online soon found out that there was no logout button, or any other way to get out at that. They did notice a lot of changes, though, after figuring out the mechanics of the game all over again. The game had given them an option to re-make their avatar, to look more like them or to at least adjust it to your original height and sex, as well as the option to restore their abilities and levels to one all over again. While many discovered that the re-design of avatar was a one-chance opportunity, they also discovered that they could reset their levels and classes in-game as many times as necessary. After all of the interface discoveries, the players finally focused on their environment. Every server was the same as always, the servers being divided in 5, for each continent of the world, with Asia being the most prominent and famous, mostly because Japan is where the NTO HQ is located. In each one of the servers and in every main city of them, appeared a new building, The Church of Prayers, where people could go and pray. They soon discovered that the church was a way of contacting with the developers of NTO, and somewhere they could ask for even more updates, though they wouldn't heed the prays of people asking to go back to the real world. Apart from that, they discovered that uniting all the five servers in a rather convenient way, an isle had appeared. The Island Of Departure. The name itself was suspicious enough, and, when players decided to explore it, they found out that the bridges connecting to the Island were guarded by powerful bosses, which made them believe that the whole island was extremely suspicious now. They were curious. The Island of Departure may hold the key for them to return home. Still, not many were up for it. They didn't know what would happen if they were to die in that world. Many cowered back...... Six months have passed. You've been trapped here for half a year, and finally, the Liberation Group, the ones trying to clear the Island of Departure, has amassed enough people for them to challange the first boss guarding the entrance. However, problems don't end there. A group, opposing those from the Liberation Group, has appeared. The New Terror. Taking their name from the title of the game, these people want things to stay just as they are, saying they don't need the real world, and impeding the advance of the Liberation Group. What will you do? What do you want to do? Stay in the game and live happily ever after in a digital fantasy? Or go back to the real world and return to your daily live rather than being trapped somewhere where you might die at any given minute? The choice, is yours..... --- The basic premise of this RP, you've been trapped in a game, however, you are not sure on whether you'll die in real life if you die in the game. The game is divided in two factions, the Liberation Group, trying to free everyone from the world they've been trapped in by the same developers they once loved, and New Terror, the faction who is trying to stop people from coming out of the game, saying that they have everything they would ever need inside the game. Six months after the start, and after much disarrey, people are finally working together to reach the mysterious new section that was added when they were thrown into the game. The Island of Departure. Things you should know. After the new start of New Terra Online, there were some drastic changes in the game. Firstly, your surroundings. The Island Of Departure appeared, the Church of Prayers appeared, price tags appeared in every building and empty space of land. Then, in your characters. You found out that you could change your avatar, but just once, you could also reset your character level and classes, as many times as you want. And worst of all, the IA's. The NPC's, who before seemed like a simple computer program that repeated themselves over and over again now seemed intelligent, no, they are intelligent, almost like a human, maybe they really are humans; and then, the enemies, before they were trapped in New Terra Online and they still played it through their monitors, the enemies were idiotic, predictable. They outwitted you with either their numbers or size, but now... now, they were also intelligent, so much, everyone had a hard time just going after a few. They no longer needed numbers or size.... There are even some rumors that some of the monsters can talk. Though, as one may discern, the bigger the enemy, the less intelligent it is, because, let's face it, why would a boss need intelligence if it already had raw strength about the same of a horde of hundreds of men. That's, at least, what the most courageous and fearless players have discovered in their time here. --- Le Big Wigs! [*]Me, Hebigami Shiho-sama! The top for created races will be 16, with 3 already existant and one already taken by me. I'll write the basics for every race. Humans: Adepts at everything, masters of nothing. Humans are the original inhabitants of the land and the race that has helped the most in the industrial advance of the world. Humans receive a bonus of +2 for all of their stats. In every sub-class, Humans gain 20 points of mastery. Elves: One of the races with the best magical prowess in New Terra. Elves are tall people with elongated ears that used to live in the woods, and just recently have engaged in relations with humans and dwarves. Elves gain a boost of +5 in Willpower and Intelligence. In any sub-class related to magic, Elves gain 50 points of mastery. Dwarves: Dwarves are the race best known for their physical prowess and expert craftsmanship. Dwarves are rather short and have rather chubby bodies. Dwarves gain a boost of +5 in Strength and Resistance. In every sub-class regarding craftsmanship, Dwarves gain 50 points of mastery. Serpentes: People that resemble reptiles a lot. Their pupils are long and slit and their tongues are forked and long. They are totally covered in scales, which vary in colors from one to another. Known for being treachery and assholes in general, Serpentes are not well seen around safe towns or hunting grounds. Serpentes have a boost of +5 in Agility and Resistance. Serpentes gain 50 points of mastery in Poison Crafting. --- Known Classes! WIP There's an unlimited number of classes, and more can and will be added upon praying in the Church of Prayers. Players can create their own, as long as they are approved by the GM's and added here.
Warrior: One of the most simple classes. Focuses in physical attacks, or defense, with weapons. A warrior can use any melee weapon. Warrior 1: You gain access to the usage of any melee weapon you want. Warrior 2: Full Attack and Shield sub-tiers become available for unlocking. Stamina recovers .5 times faster than normal for Full Attack and Shield gains a bonus of 10 to Resistance and another bonus of 5 to Resistance if the player is wielding a shield. Warrior 3: The strength of the Warrior is his most important asset. Bonus of 25 to Strength. Warrior 4: Here, the tier divides in two. For someone with the Full Attack sub-tier, you gain the Vanguard or Berserker options. Vanguards are intelligent attackers, using buffs and... MORE TO COME HERE!

WIP!

WIP!

Spellblade. The simple combination of a warrior's martial prowess and a mage's magical abilities. Special attacks are replaced with magic. The tiers would be simple: Spellblade 1: simple Spellblade. Can use weapons and basic magic. At Spellblade 2, the offensive and defensive sub-tiers are unlocked. Magical abilities cooldown more quickly and the Spellblade can now imbue their weapon with the magic of choice, to harm enemies or protect themselves or allies. Spellblade 3: The Spellblade is more dexterous, receiving a bonus of 20 points to the stat. At Spellblade ,4 the Specializations appear. For an offensive Spellblade, the Sageblade and Dark Knight specializations appear. Dark Knights specialize in pure damage-dealing, even sacrificing their own lifepower to fuel vile, destructive magics. The Sageblade focuses on the combination of magic and weaponry, and is able to create weapons out of pure magical power. For a defensive Spellblade, the Paladin and War Cleric specializations appear. The Paladin is your typical Paladin, specializing in being a tank. They use magic to heal themselves and their allies, but also have a small array of attack abilities. The War Cleric focuses purely on defense, being able to heal, revive and buff their allies. In addition, Tier 4 Spellblades gain a bonus of 30 to their intelligence, to help them learn their new skills more easily. Tier 5 Spellblades gain a bonus of 40 points dependent upon their specialization: A Sageblade gains Intelligence, a Dark Knight Strength, a Paladin Resistance, and A War Cleric Willpower. Tier 6 Spellblades receive the Damn the Jack, I'm the King Title, gain a bonus of 20 to Intelligence, Strength, Resistance and Willpower, and finally, gain access to their specialization's Mastery Ability: The Sageblade's Arcana Weapon: The equipped weapon is infused with pure magic, doubling its damage-dealing potential for a period of time. The Dark Knight's Soul Drain: The Dark Knight steals life equal to the amount of damage they have taken, restoring them to full health and dealing double that amount in damage. The Paladin's Stone Temple: For 30 seconds, the Paladin and every creature, friend or foe, within 50 feet is immune to damage from any source. The War Cleric's Grand Heal: All allies are healed by the War Cleric's maximum HP, and cured of any status ailment they may have, excluding death.
--- Known Sub-Classes! None at the moment! :D More will be added after I put this damn thing up! D:< --- Where and When will things be set in? Half a year after the game started, people are finally starting to organize themselves in order to access, and conquer, the Island of Departure. To do this, they will hold a strategic meeting in Kyoto, near to where the bridge to cross to the island appeared. Meanwhile, near the border of Tokyo, the New Terror is also having a meeting, a meeting on how to disrupt the operations of the Liberation Group. You can be on either of these cities, strolling around, re-supplying or even mob hunting, if you have little to no interest in assisting the meetings. I will be playing the leaders of the New Terror faction and whoever else can play the leader of the Liberation Group, of course, if anyone's up for it. OR! You can just have a slice-of-life while everyone else is risking their lives, maybe even be lovey-dovey with your soulmate that you suddenly found inside the game. It's up to the player, really. xD --- Terms Any NTO Player Would Know! Mounts: Mounts are NPC animals players can ride to travel faster. Horses are the most basic ones, and a must own for every NTO player, since they are cheap and fast. However, through different classes and events, you can gain even more mounts. It is said that a quest inside The Island of Departure, gives the player a limited-use Dragon mount, however, since no one has ever gone inside it, this hasn't been proven. Known mounts are: Horses, Griffins, Big Friggin' Lizards AKA Wingless Dragons, Mammoths and many more players will come up with! Teleport Gates: Inside every major town of every server, a player can find a Teleport Gate, that can teleport you anywhere in the New Terra world, as long as there is a Teleport Gate there too (Duh) and has been activated previously by another player. Safe Towns and Battlegrounds: Safe Towns, or just Towns, are places where players can rest easy and relax for a bit, as any kind of violence against anyone else is immediately stopped on its tracks by the system, giving a slight push-back to whoever tried to attack another person without being in a duel or things of the like. Battlegrounds, though, are a lot more dangerous, since not only are there monsters, but also other players, and some of them may attack you for no reason. However, there hasn't been any notice of someone dying for the half year people has been there, at least if there has been one, it wasn't made public. Parties: One can form a party with a number of their friends to go on different adventures. When in a party, the EXP distributes equally for the players, with a small boost for the one who landed the last hit. Before, parties had a limit of 8 people, but with the new expansion, the number decreased to 6. Guilds: A guild is a group of players who have united under the same banner. A guild can be named in many different ways, but mostly, it is just for friends who want to stick together and have an easy access to one another, instead of searching through a large list of things. Many, however, have started seeing guilds as more serious things since they were trapped into the game. Some guilds have been dedicating their time to grinding, while others to producing and others to selling and buying. A player can make a guild whenever he wants, the minimum being 2 players and the maximum reaching 500. Events and Quests: Events can happen almost at any time, anywhere, even in safe towns, some may require you to do something especial like, delivering something to someone or doing an specific something with someone else, or maybe even defeating an event Boss, things of the like. Events are generally simple and with great rewards included, while Quests can be a lot more complicated things, often asking the elimination of various monsters or collecting some kind of item far away from an specific monster, but the rewards for the hardest quests are also rather great. Bosses and Boss Battles: Since NTO was simply a game, a boss was already a force to reckon with. A boss battle usually takes a force of at least several dozens of players. With the new update, The Liberation Group has garnered a force of hundreds of players, to confront the boss standing in the bridge, just to be safe. An special item is awarded to the player or party that lands the last hit. This items are usually so rare that only player-handmade items made with extremely good materials are the only thing that can surpass them. Items and Equipment: Ranging from simple potions to healing crystals, and from leather coats to adamantine armors, these two are necessary for survival in New Terra Online. --- All right, I think I covered everything, but people, please, if you think I lack anything LET ME KNOW! And now, without further ado! I open thee, OOC!
