Just to flesh this out and give a direction I'd like to put this in, which may interest some people. I'm thinking the setting will be on a desert-y barren planet. As for legal system, I'm thinking better than something like Mad Max, or Borderlands as comparable settings, but certainly not standard civilization. I guess it wouldn't be far off to say its generally "Wild West" movie government. Settlements/towns/collections of people appoint their own law enforcement or protection they can trust. This leaves room for racketeering and generally brutish behavior, extortion. 

As for a technology level, I like the idea of higher technologies mixed with some for a practicality. Like, Star Wars speeders and small hover craft, but weapons that fire actual projectiles, not actual laser weaponry, not a portable form at least. Starships obviously exist, but I don't think any characters in this rp will really need one, as the entire setting should be on the planet itself. 

As for the general outline for my character itself, I have a sort of Lawman character in mind, who has a bionic limb or two.
