Clyde, after awhile, simply sighed. "Well, whatever. I should probably get back before the outer repairs are finished. Otherwise my chair'll get swiped." He shook his head, turning to his right to return to the ship from the way he came, but stopped as he heard an irritated groan coming from inside the store. He peeked through the window and noticed the clerk up at the counter, seeming irritated with the computer in front of her. "Poor gal doesn't look too tech savvy." He commented to himself, figuring she could use some help. Surely taking a little more time wouldn't hurt anybody, right? The repairs probably weren't finished... Probably. Entering the store, he was amused as the clerk seemed to be getting progressively irritated at the device in front of her. She was young; this was probably one of her first jobs, Clyde figured. Surprisingly enough, some people even on the higher tech worlds didn't know much about technology. She wasn't exactly old enough to be experienced with computers unless she focused on learning about them, so whatever the issue was, it was probably not her fault she couldn't fix it. Clyde figured he knew a bit more, so he could help out somewhat. "Y'need some help?" He asked, stopping at the counter as the clerk glanced at him. "Well," The girl began, crossing her arms under her chest as she glared back at the computer. "The damn thing has been real buggy since this morning. Occasionally things just close out when I'm in the middle of something, or just opens up stuff on it's own... I don't know what the hell it's doing." She explained, though not including many details that could help him. "I haven't gotten a single order done today due to this crap, and if my boss finds out, he'll be pissed." Clyde nodded. "Hmm. Mind if I take a look at it? I'm not an Expert or anything, but I've been around my fair share of computers... And have had issues, too." He smiled, though the clerk simply questioned him. "Really? What caused it for you?" As soon as her words reached his ears, he turned his head slightly, coughing and taking a moment to say something back. "Eeh... Don't know. It just happens." He said, looking back at her. "But not knowing doesn't stop me from fixing it! So, lemme take a look, yeah?" "I'd appreciate the help if you could look at it, honestly. Just... Please be careful not to break it or something, yeah?" Her request made him chuckle, as he walked around to the other side of the counter, stepping in front of the computer as she moved to the side. "Don't worry 'bout it. If I can't solve it, I won't try anything stupid."
Description: A young clerk in an electronic store on Al-Habash is having issues with the store's computer. It's apparently closing and opening programs randomly, making her work impossible for the most part, and will most likely get her fired by her boss if he assumes she caused it. You have offered to take a look at it, but she has requested that you do not tinker with it too much unless you know what you need to do. Roll Difficulty Recommendation: 8 - (Subject to change at the GM's word.) Reward Recommendation: Something minor. - (GM's choice, if it's not worthy of a reward, that's perfectly fine.)
--- Computers Roll: Success! "You don't mind if I shut it off and back on, right?" Clyde asked, staring at the screen curiously as a game of solitaire popped up on the screen out of nowhere. The clerk nodded. "Go ahead, I don't think it'll hurt anything. Haven't made any progress today." Quickly, Clyde shut down the computer, waiting for it to shutdown completely before turning it back on. "Alright, this is a pretty basic computer. Just gotta boot it up in Safe Mode, and do a few scans..." "What?" The clerk blurted out, not knowing what he was doing in the slightest aside from possibly fixing her problem. Clyde smiled slyly. "Hey, you could learn a thing or two, you ought to pay close attention." He gestured for her to get closer and she did just that, leaning onto the table to see the screen better. Clyde simply began getting to work, explaining things in the most basic sense he could as he did the tasks. "Alright, so the first thing is opening the boot menu..." -Some Minutes Later...- After doing some scans, finding a virus that was for the most part just some harmless prank that got overly annoying, and disposing of it, Clyde rebooted the computer back into it's normal state, standing up strait and grinning. "That ought to do it. Shouldn't be having anymore problems now." He glanced over at the clerk, heeding the words that she spoke. "I can't thank you enough for this. Hopefully it worked, and I can finally get these orders done." She seemed happy, and Clyde, though happy to help, couldn't help but run his mouth. "It was no problem, though... I have no idea how that virus got there. Seems similar to one I got while... Uh, browsing." "..." The clerk was quiet, and Clyde nodded with his grin. "I ain't gonna say anything, just be careful, yeah?" "Of course. And I can't let you go without at least a little something... I can let you shop here with my employee discount, perhaps? Though if too much sells at those prices my boss will notice, since I'm not exactly a big spender." She sighed, seeming to think it was fair enough. Clyde did as well, liking this reward. "That's alright. Maybe just one item, then?" He was happy as she nodded in agreement, and in return for his work, he managed to score a compad for 75 credits due to her employee discount. Talk about good deals! After saying goodbye, Clyde left with his new compad, figuring he'd mess with it later. It was getting around to that time he should head back to the ship. So that'd be his next move. "Repairs ought to be done within' too long. We'll be out of here and back in the sky, heh..." He was happy, and not much at the moment could ruin his mood.
