Also, I have a simple suggestion for the mana sytem: uses per spell.The system I'm thinking of is similar to Summon Night: Sword Craft Story, where each spell has a specific number of uses depending on your level. At level 1, your main character in the game starts out with one spell, which they can only use twice until they run out of spell usages and need to go back for healing or use MP potions. In order to improve the clarity of this sytem though, I would need the all the spells in the game. On the other hand, we could do a traditional RPG numbers sytem for mana where each spell costs a specific amount per usage, only limited by the amount of mana the user currently has, but that would require lots of calculations regarding the scaling of each person's mana, and since classes are free form... yeah.
