If she happens to see or hear anything of interest, she'll be going after it like a kid on Christmas day. It's common for her to lie all the time, and to try to cover it up as if she had not lied in the first place. This also goes with the habit of hers to "borrow" things from people for her magic research, and never give them back. [b]-Powers-[/b] As a resident from Gensokyo, Marisa is flexible with the spell card rules regarding danmaku battles and spells in general. Marisa's motto for her spells is: "It ain't magic if it ain't flashy. Danmaku's all about firepower." For a human magician, she is strong enough to go up against deadly youkai, and it's a surprise that she hasn't become a youkai by now (in the case of Alice Margatroid).
