Name: Lauren Goldsmith Gender: Female Age: Ten and a half, thank you very much. Appearance:[hider2=Written Description]Likely the first thing anybody will notice about Lauren Goldsmith is her radiant smile, followed closely by her natural blonde twintails and fondness for the colour blue. "Bright" would be the most accurate word to describe her with, from her sparkling blue eyes to her fair complexion. Her hair is well maintained and healthy, usually lifted up into her favoured twintails but otherwise hanging at close to shoulder length. She stands at approximately 140cm and weighs a measly 32kg, making her rather close to the average size for girls her age. Out of her humble collection of outfits, her favourite is the blue sundress hand-picked for her by her mother. She has two pairs of hair ribbons, one light blue and the other coloured a darker tone of the same blue. Her shoes aren't that interesting, really, they're either sneakers, sandals or black dress shoes depending on the scenario. She has a yellow raincoat, a blue parka and a few different sorts of blue swimsuit, including her favourite one-piece. She owns a pair of glasses and a pair of sunglasses, although they're not prescription.[/hider2] Relation to Christopher Lovelle: Niece Occupation: Detective extraordinaire Personality: Despite her childish attitude, Lauren often shows moments of surprising insight and forethought, suggesting an unusually high level of reasoning ability. She's the perfect image of a happy, energetic little girl, bouncing around and seeking praise wherever she can manage. She loves puzzles and games, and is very excited to be taking part in such a "cool" game with family members she may have never met. She's often seen with a wide, dazzling smile that has become her trademark, and is used mostly as a way to manipulate others into giving her sweets or playing games with her. She shows all of the traits of somebody who has never been lied to in her life, and it shows. Despite her sharp mind, she's quite naive and easily fooled by appearances. At the same time, even short conversations with somebody can give her an unusual amount of insight into somebody's character, and even the most complete lies won't be able to fool her inquisitive mind forever. Because she's been rather sheltered for her entire life, she doesn't have a very good sense of when things are dangerous, and often disregards the warnings of others in favour of exciting new adventures. Biography: Little Laura is the only child of Christopher Lovelle's youngest sister, who married a young entrepreneur she had met while travelling the Americas. The two of them settled down somewhere in western Canada and, after several failed attempts, finally managed to make themselves a fine little daughter. Seeing the baby girl's brilliant blue eyes, the two of them decided to name her Lauren, after the wife's grandmother (who possessed precisely the same hue.) It was evident at a young age that Lauren was something special, and that she had inherited a certain love for puzzles from her mother. Once she began to understand words, there was rarely a waking moment spent where she wasn't talking about something or another. The only times you could catch her being quiet were when she was eating or playing with her puzzles, so her parents caught on to this and nearly began to bring home a new puzzle every day. By the time she was six years old, she had already mastered every one of her early puzzles and was moving forwards to more complicated, age-appropriate puzzles. For her, it was like she was advancing through the ranks, becoming a cooler and more excellent puzzle-solver with every passing year. When she moved on to reading books, she immediately attached to her father's mystery novels, and while it was a while still until she was able to read them on her own, she spent many long evenings sitting on her fathers lap and listening to the adventures they contained. To her, books were beginning to become their own special kind of puzzle, one that she could actively enjoy with others. Now, she is ten, and her reading habits have become more ravenous than ever. Somehow, she has seemed to be getting into books far beyond her apparent level, and has begun to show an extraordinary level of literacy and intellect for her age. Her parents were very proud of their little girl, even if they had to spend less and less time with her as the years passed. She never seemed to get lonely or hate her parents for leaving her alone, and her happy smile served as fuel to keep the couple together and happy even during what was one of the toughest periods in their life. Lauren didn't know what was the matter, but she was sure to give her very brightest smile whenever her mother looked her way, and life only seemed just that much more fun when her parents did have time to spend. When the letter came, describing the scenario that was being presented for Christopher Lovelle's inheritance, Lauren's parents seemed immensely relieved and almost desperate to participate in the Game. However, only one person in that household was addressed with the right to join in, and that person was- surprisingly, Lauren. Not knowing what to think of it, Lauren's parents were against the idea at first, but broke quickly beneath their daughter's insistence and allowed her to join in. Miscellaneous: -Lauren does not care about the inheritance, beyond her interest in participating in the Game -Her parents left shortly after they arrived, as neither of them were invited to stay -Laura's parents are in a dire situation unknown to any of the participants, Laura herself included -While she's easily underestimated, Lauren's intellect and reasoning ability are both at a level where she can compete with the adults -Loves sweets -Hates boredom
