I think the thing with Dot and Luanne is they PRETEND to be a lot more competent than they are. Their weapons were from their father's gun cabinet and they don't really know anything other than food = survival. It's like those preteens that act "mature for their age", when really it's just trying not to seem incompetent in front of the adults.
That seems pretty solid to me. Sound like a reaction a lot of preteens would (and do have irl), but especially would have given the stress and magnitude of the situation. I just don't want our group to end up weird, you know?
Thank you so much Strawberry for putting that together. It puts things into perspective for some that have been asking me for locations and stuff. As for the adult/kid dynamic, I agree. We need parents to keep the kids from losing themselves in the ease of just killing for whatever they want, as well as keeping them on the right path to survive and not make possibly rash decisions. So, I wouldn't be opposed to either creating another character for that reason, to go with the pharmacy group...or accepting another character for that reason from someone else.
No problem :) I think my characters could somewhat fulfill the parental role, especially in preparation for their own little one. It is really the leader roles that I am most worried about. As I said, I think they're apt enough to help make group decisions, but I don't think they've reached far enough in their characterization, or had enough previous roles (especially considering they had jobs where neither was the head of their profession as yet), to be apt leaders, especially in unfamiliar territory.
