CS reference dump. This takes place in a world where zombies don't exist as a cultural theme. There were no films about hordes of walking corpses, when it started happening no one knew how to process it. Where the virus came from, no one's sure. It broke out quickly and chaos had already ensued before anyone made an attempt to figure it out. What is understood is that there is a dormant form, and an active form. As far as we know, all survivors carry the dormant form, and when they die, no matter what the cause, they turn. They come back, their mind gone and nothing left but hunger and savagery. When bit by one of these walking corpses, the active form of the virus takes hold. It starts as a fever, and if the fever takes you, you turn. Surviving the fever is a coin toss in the best circumstances. When the panic first started, there were riots, looters, general public chaos. The military and police were made to keep peace, and there were casualties on both sides. Nobody knew to destroy the brain at the time, and those casualties came back and started another wave of panic. The first cities to be affected fell in less than 48 hours. A competent, organized resistance was never formed, the virus swept through too quickly, across the entire globe. Only the most remote places remained untouched.
These stats range from -3 to +3. They must equal a net of +3. Cool: As in clear-thinking, calm, rational Hard: As in hard-hearted, aggressive, violent. Determines melee combat. Swift: As in quick, reactive, flighty. Sharp: As in smart, perceptive, educated. Steady: As in dextrous, unflappable. Determines ranged combat. These range from -1 to +1. They must equal a net of +1. Handgun Rifle Bow Thrown Melee As for how play goes, you just post as normal, but without the conclusion for whatever action you take. I, or a co GM will roll and announce and post the result. We roll with 2d6(two six sided dice) and add(or subtract) the appropriate stat, skill, and stress penalty. 10+ is a full success, 7-9 is a partial success.

This is stuff I(or co-GMs) will be doing without saying so. You don't have to worry about it, but I'm putting it here so that you'll know how we get things. Sharp checks: Anytime I decide that there is a detail worth seeing, everyone will take a check on their Sharp skill. I will tell the player what their character notices based on the result(full success, they see the whole situation. Partial success, they see part of it, and have to take time investigating further.) This could be guns or other hidden loot sitting around, or it could even be mobs that aren't in plain sight. Maybe even an NPC hiding from the group. If everyone misses their checks, you'll never know what you didn't spot(possibly until it's too late). Now, let's talk about both Loot and Mobs. Anytime you enter a new setting, I'll roll to determine how many mobs, and what kind of loot is present. For mob rolls, I'll roll an amount of six sided dice dependent on the size of the area, and the number I get is how many are present. Street, or open wilderness: 6d6 Large building: 3d6 Small building: 2d6 Loot: Same sort of deal, different scenarios will require different numbers of dice, but we're using d10 now. But this time, the numbers you get in the roll determine the type of loot. The GM will specify at their own discretion. Large building: 4d10 Small building: 3d10 Car: 2d10 Body: 1d10 Numbers equal these: 1: Food 2: Food 3: Clothing 4: Clothing 5: Luxury 6: Ammunition 7: Melee/thrown weapon. 8: Melee/thrown weapon. 9:Medicine 10: Gun/other ranged weapon
You may post CSes here for approval. We'll keep them in a separate thread where they can all be accessed and edited when necessary. Tell me if you'd like me to take care of keeping your CS up to date. CS Name: Age: Appearance: Occupation: What you did before the collapse, not what you've done since. Inventory: You must list everything in explicit detail for this. This includes the clothes you wear, and any spares you may have. I may ask you to remove things if they go overboard. You may have one ranged weapon and one melee, as well as one vehicle to start. Please list the items by where your character keeps them. Stats Cool: Hard: Swift: Sharp: Steady: Handgun: Rifle: Bow: Thrown: Melee:
