Then, the corner of his mouth pulled a little to the side. "We let it get out of hand," he said simply. He looked around, at the state of the circus itself and the various people lying about, at Balti in particular. Then he sighed, sitting down on the floor and resting his head on his folded arms. The circus was doing bad deeds, for sure. But there was still so much they didn't know, and they had pretty much destroyed this place in the process of bringing them down. Not to mention how Amy mentioned meeting the two leaders ten years ago. She had to have seen them last much more recently than that, else the fact that the portraits in that tent was pretty much proof that they were actively stalking her. But again, they knew so little even now. He felt someone sit next to him, and Lucien proceeded to flash him a grin and crack a joke, regardless of the sombreness of the atmosphere in the air. And Sy couldn't help but feel that broad, somewhat dorky grin spread across his lips despite how much he wanted to scowl. She began to work on prizing it off. "Yer guess was bang on the money then," she called over to Lady. It did make her happy to see mother and son reunited, although her face didn't show it. "And it's fine, you'd do the same for mine." She glanced around. "Uh... dunno if you'd be as messy as this." Plus Sonny was pretty unlikely to get himself into a mess like this anyway. She shrugged, and went back to her sword. Thankfully Amy's magic had served to at least ease her wounds. She couldn't really think of anything else, so she said little more.
