@belatedgamer: I think part of the fun of this game will be learning a lot of the specifics of magic throughout the game, so I will not go into too much detail. The magic in my world is supposed to be more of a science than an art. There are aspects of both to it but a lot of the more creative and fun things you can do will require complex calculations (on your character's part). Basically it works by introducing a new source of energy to a closed system (the world). So effects like flinging about fire and lightning are common. Honestly though I'm not too picky, if there is a certain effect you want to accomplish I will work with you to get your character to do that. The only limit I will be fairly rigid on effect wise is that you cannot create or destroy matter. Oh one other thing you should know. Magic will physically harm you the more you draw on it, these effects are negligible if you do not draw on it too frequently, but any huge spells, or if you cast a lot of spells over the course of a few hours can cause harm to your character, and this harm may not be entirely apparent at first.
