Build: athletic Cyborg Amputations: Eyes. Her cybernetic eyes allow her to function extraordinarily effectively as a reconnaissance scout. She can see in normal, night, thermal, X-ray and other forms of vision, has a 100% photographic memory, has a heads up display, and can project images for others to see, including her mind's eye. Distinguishing Features: - Permanent red face mark coming down from the left eye (see pic). I wouldn't call it a tattoo...I'd call it an artistically inflicted scar, courtesy of Black Claw Ink Inc. - Natural scar running diagonally down the entire length of her back. This was attained by repeated brutal floggings with a whip. In an interesting twist, the whip that gave her the scar is the whip she now uses herself. Skills: - The Way of the Fist: Her "training" as part of the Black Claw program was oriented mainly on various martial arts disciplines. - Silent Steps: While it is difficult for her to be visually stealthy due to her loud white hair, she can adeptly move quickly in complete silence. - Cool Whip: After being released by Amadeus, she found an experimental long whip in a back room that she uses (rather ruthlessly) as her main weapon. Strengths: - Ghost Recon: Her cybernetic eyes and enhanced senses allow her to sense and see far more than a normal human (including through walls), making her the perfect forward scout. - Reflex Shot Award (that's a 3D Pinball Space Cadet reference): The main biological enhancement she was given during her time with the Black Claw was superhuman reflexes. - Painkiller: Very high pain tolerance (physical and mental). Weaknesses: - Short Range: Her range is only as far as her whip can travel. While it's an impressive distance for a melee weapon, she still has no defense against projectile weapons and can easily be dispatched by them. - Fragile: She has an extremely high pain tolerance, but as only her eyes are cybernetic she is only additionally resistant to face damage compared to a normal human. - Limbo: Her mind has been so warped that she can be persuaded easily. When on a mission she knows where she stands, but in general conversation she is very gullible. Personality: Distant. Aloof. Background: Nirvana was originally named Nayana, a name meaning "beautiful eyes" in Hebrew. She didn't lead a particularly charming life before she was taken by the Black Claw. She was born with defective eyes, and as she grew older her parents, who didn't much care for her, never got her the medical treatment she needed. As she went through high school, she began to go blind completely. And just when her life seemingly couldn't get any worse, she was surrounded by strange men and taken away one day while she was sitting alone at a picnic table in a park. Truth be told though, if any of the subjects' capture was anything resembling a good thing for all involved (not just the Black Claw), she was the subject who got it the best. Her uncaring parents were rid of her, the program got a good subject, and she was made to see again. Of course, it wasn't all rosy once she was within the Claw's clutches. She was experimented and operated on regularly with no anesthetic in sight - the scientists and doctors almost treating it like a game. As a result, she built up an extraordinarily high pain tolerance. In the process, the scientists started referring to her as Nirvana in casual conversation amongst themselves for no particular reason, and the name stuck to the point where Nirvana forgot her real name. Eventually relegating her as a lost cause to the project due to her perceived limited usefulness, the scientists continued to experiment on her to try things for the other subjects. She was eventually placed in storage and forgotten about, remaining alive through the facility's automated meal deliveries via vacuum tubes. From her storage chamber she witnessed Amadeus wreak havoc on the Black Claw, leaving her and the other subjects in storage in the facility that she could see to wither away. Her life seemed at an end yet again, until Amadeus returned and found her. When told about Novum and their mission to eradicate the Black Claw, she immediately accepted it in the oddest way possible: a brutally simple "ok" was all that she said.
