The alarm clock buzzed, putting an end to the heavenly sleep Stevie Novak was in. She slammed her hand down on the alarm clock and woke up groggily. Like many other people, Stevie had taken the day off of work to stay home - only she had a different reason behind it. While overly paranoid citizens stayed home so they would be ready and secured for the purge, Stevie stayed home so she could be well rested for her own purging that night. Light was seeping through the blinds in her room, telling her that it was still daylight outside. She took a look at her clock and it was four hours before the purge would begin. This would give her just enough time to gather and prepare her weapons, make sure she had essential health kits, and put her in the right state of mind. While others purged much like serial killers - no specific target in mind, killing only for the purpose to relieve stress - Stevie had her own reasons for participating and had her own methods. Up until the age of 17, she had not participated in the purge. However, once her entire family was taken from her during the purge of her senior year, she made it her duty from then onward to participate in the purge and stay those who preyed after innocent families. Sure, it was twisted, but she felt as if it was justified. Perhaps it was. She made sure that all of her supplies was ready and she was prepared for what was to come. It was now two hours before the purge and she was ready.
