I'm pitching him as the kind of person that is willing to die for the family he serves if it furthers their gains. Obviously I'd prefer if the character lived long enough to make him interesting but the idea is that he's not a mercenary so much a dedicated follower almost to the point of zealotry. But if you would take Mercer on that would be really cool.
