/me comes to the conclusion that Kidd has as many problems understanding boys as boys have at understanding girls. In school, everything is simple and straightforward, except girls.Or, are you wondering why none of the main-cast has developed a love-interest in Cardin yet?
I'm not wondering anything. It's just that in a lot of media, dudes are the focus and any girls are just kinda on the side / there to make the dudes look better. RWBY totally flips that, haha. It's uncommon is all. People are complex, I get that, but I'm just saying that RWBY uses the males to make the females look better whereas it's usually females that are plot devices for the males.
I'd prefer all the characters be useful and contribute not only to the plot, but to the fight scenes that more or less make RWBY worth watching. I feel as though they butt monkey the male characters just so they can have the 'bragging rights' of being a show where their females are the dominant force because gurl powah is 'cool' nowadays and it 'breaks the norm' of female characters always being useless. The fact Ruby was like 'Oh fuck, we need back up, better call Jaune' does give me hope that Jaune's gotten stronger and his team will be useful for more than just 'lol hi im pyrrha get rekt' and the occasional Nora one liner though. Maybe everyone will be of use in the finale instead of Ruby mary sueing it up and soloing the final Grimm boss.
Well, for a lot of people, it's not only that "gurl powah is cool." Quite frankly, it's important. But, yeah, it breaks the norm as well. I mean, I agree. I like equal positive representation of male and females. But it's important to understand that's it's also perfectly fine to have one gender dominate the cast every now and again. It's just more-than-typical that that gender is male, so it's not just breaking the norm that women are becoming dominant in media, I'd say it's necessary. Legend of Korra does a good job of this, too (without making the guys useless like RWBY does, admittedly, haha). But yeah, I would like to see more characters working together as well. I'm also really looking forward to Jaune's character development.
Whether or not Jaune is gonna be awesomeI have a feeling Jaune will kick Neo's ass-cheeks in a dance-off.-Almost immediately recognized her technique, knew Yang was screwed from the start. The only people who use an umbrella in combat are people who rely on grace over brute mauling, and Yang's only real strength has been mauling.-All of Yang's injuries were pretty much "Stop hitting yourself". (also, in about 30 seconds, people will say Neo is Torchwick's daughter, and a shameless panty-thief)Jaune, meanwhile, has strength of limp noodle, can't use against him what he don't got.
Yeah, Neo played it very smart and makes me wonder what she knows about Yang's semblance. She kept her blows to a minimum, where as Yang is used to just letting people beat on her until she can counter, haha.
