You basically get flu-like symptoms at first, chills or fever, then pain and tiredness, then usually vomiting and/or an upset stomach, and finally you get the power from it and it goes away. As they are viruses, they mutate, which gives you more tricks with their effect.
The name can be anything that fits what it does, though some viruses may be named after the person that discovered it or patient zero. Names are "Meteora" (because they are from a meteor as far as anyone knows), followed by a latin-sounding word for its power, discoverer, or patient zero.
