Yeah, exactly. We as human beings believe ourselves to be the top of the chain, in food and otherwise, but when something comes along we can't explain right away we have a tendency to create something that explains it. This is the basis for most Religions in the beginning, after a while though and science explained a lot, Religion took on other purposes around the end of the Pagan era. That is a whole other discussion though, so we won't worry about it.
