The red-haired mage closed his eyes and shook his head. Leaning against the bar, he had a clear view of everyone in the room. "Mayt," his voice spoke up, carrying over the others after Minerva finished speaking. "We're not risking anyone." Maddox opened his eyes and looked over at Damien first. He took the second of silence to memorize his face. Then his gaze swept over the rest of the guild. "We're just taking the first step to getting our friend back." With that, Maddox stood up straight and walked through the crowded hall to the front by Jamie. "I wasn't here when Wes disappeared, but I already know that it is likely the Council has the key to our success in getting him back." "For that reason, I volunteer to get the book. There's no need for violence or confronting the Magic Council." Maddox looked over at Minerva and then Damien. Then he looked back to the bar at James. The other three people to so far volunteer. "The four of us is far more than enough," he added, before looking to the master. "We can leave immediately. There's no need to waste time deciding who will do what or whether or not it's even a good idea." Now Maddox looked back across the guild hall at everyone there. "We can have the book here in ten minutes if nobody else feels like speaking up."
