John discovered his powers one day when he fell into a campfire. Nothing happened oddly enough and all his boy scout friends were shocked. They chalked it up to a freak of nature. But John knew he had powers. And he started training. By the time he was 15 he could summon fireballs the size of the globe in his classroom, and hurl them through layers of concrete. John was called into the Young Justice team after he stopped the supervillain, Electok from killing the mayor of his small town. He was taken into the Young Justice base by Nightwing, and was told that he could go back to his boring life, or he could get a chance to do something useful.
