I feel the demons are like placing all your tricks on the table at once. Wyvern was kinda introducing troubles for us on a more personal level; you could see them start to build up pretty quickly and how they'd tie everyone into a bigger conflict.

If you're going to introduce demons that's fine, but you at least need a better, longer lead up, and more personal involvement from the characters.
