He believes in the preservation of life in every form, no matter how small or how large that life should always be cherished and kept sacred above all else. However, he loves to fight. He loves to see the dances that is the beauty of a perfect battle, biased to neither side and perfect through its every being. He loves to see the blood as it sprays into the sky and the people cringe in pain as their defeat becomes eminent. Thus, he seeks to fight but will not put down an opponent. He may brutalize them in such a way they could never see, hear, or move again, but he refuses to take someone's life if the battle has been decided. Backstory: Kaken was born into a long line of warriors, loyal to the capital. The family motto was preservation before prosperity, and this showed through his families' teachings. Through success and a general knack for warfare he moved swiftly up the ranks, achieving the rank of Colonel at the age of 26 and acquired his own squad of 8 soldiers. However, he found little enjoyment in his work, and despite his families' teaching that the goal of life was longevity, he began to question. He questioned what it truly meant to preserve. Thus, he came to the conclusion that true preservation was not of oneself, but instead of one's species. Through his time acting on the capital's behalf he'd also found a lack of difficult opponents. His job consisted of extermination of illegal immigrants. He knew full well the strength of the higher ups, but he'd found little combat on the field that could even be considered similar of their own. He wanted a challenge to test the brutal personality he'd developed, simply out of lust for violence. Pairing these two facts together, he turned his back on his country, his family, and his squad, opting to join the Revolutionary army. Therein he found his Teigu, The Bleeding Marlin. The very presence of the ring appeared to act as though it was judging him, sizing up his worth and deciding his value. Drawn into the ring, seemingly trying to guide him forward he slipped the ring onto his finger. Almost immediately it reacted to him, stopping his blood flow before speeding up it's flow. Blood began to drip from his eyes, covering them completely in red. Kaken did not react in panic though. Instead, he sat down, accepting this judgement. It was something most would consider odd but to Kaken it felt natural. The ring never exuded any type of malice. Ultimately his blood began to flow back into him through his left eye socket, permanently staining his eye black and red, losing all vision in his eye. To this day he has never regretted any sacrifice he himself has committed and still sticks to his ideals, preservation before prosperity. Thus, he has chosen the path which he believes will preserve not himself, but humanity as a whole. Turning against the capital, all the while having a little fun along the way. Bloody Limbs being an exception with a (*) Meaning in most cases it does not contribute to bloodloss. (*)Bloody limbs: The skin along his mid and lower back splits open, morphing his blood into any number of tendrils(Usually ranging from 2-6 with higher numbers becoming thinner and thinner) Upon morphing the blood begins to harden almost immediately, the outer area of the tendrils resembling sharpened scales and the inner area having the liquid pulled from the outer layer increases the density of the blood cells. The tendrils can be manipulated freely but specialize in close range combat, due to the fact that over long distances the tendrils become thinner in diameter, decreasing not only ease of control but also rendering them to be far less dense, thus they become susceptible to attacks. (The tendrils are usually able withstand the majority of swords. However, heavier weapons such as large hammers or maces are able to break through the tendrils outer layer, causing the damaged tendril to shatter and the blood within to well... Kinda go everywhere.)(He is also able to retract undamaged Bloody Limbs, reducing almost all blood loss) *Spear(s) of Malice: The users wrists split open, pushing blood out into the users palm. This can either be used to generate a singular thick, hardened spear. Or it can be used to generate multiple smaller, thin, and brittle spears to splay outwards in dual arcs in front of the user. True self-control(Triggered): Upon triggering, the user is granted semi-control over their blood within their body, heightening physical reaction times, as well as physical strength greatly. The user can also immediately harden their blood, preventing bloodloss. (They can only harden their blood to the equivalence of a scab and thus this can't be used defensively.) True self-control(Passive): Outside of battles the user's blood flow is heightened. This allows the user to have semi-increased healing speeds(about 15%), immune system functions, and is generally healthier overall. The user is also able to forcefully remove any blood from within their body, this allows the user to remove anything within their blood stream such as poisons or shrapnel. (The effects of this can also be transferred to others so long as contact is consistently being made with the user) *Bleeding Exchange: The user is able to transfer their blood with others with no negative side effects. The user can then treat the received blood as their own. If the user gives their blood to another the person receiving blood is granted a minor version of True self control's passive ability as well as increased blood clotting, dependent on the amount of blood transferred. Trump Card: *Bloody Game Master: Within this trump card exists two versions of one being. The first being the "King of control" ability. The user smashes the ring, shattering it into their skin and into their blood stream. The user is then granted full control of their blood as well as minor control over other's blood. For the user this allows them to forcefully harden others blood within their range, this can instantly cover open wounds, remove poisons and shrapnel, and boost the blood flow of allies as well as slow down blood flow, and movements of any the user deems within the given area. With full control over themselves, the user's fighting capabilities are also massively heightened, increasing speed and allowing what most would consider awkward movements to be done with ease. This is a one use move, destroying the teigu in the process. Some would prefer dieing, rather than using this move, simply to preserve the teigu. Thus, to many the existence of this ability seems pointless and would never use it. The second form of The Bloody Game Master is the "Queen of Mayhem" ability. Upon vocal activation of this ability the user's blood flow and blood production is heightened beyond human limits, at first forcing blood through the mouth, eyes, and ears. It then rapidly develops, leaking blood through the users every pore, coating them in blood. Internally the nerves dissipate and are replaced with hardened blood tendrils, allowing movement through control over blood. This blood is then able to be controlled at a heightened level. The user is unable to see throughout this. However, every ability is able to be performed at 2 times their previous capability and at every angle directing from the user. The "Queen of Mayhem" ability is treated as a self destruction ability and can only be performed once. One may be able to keep someone who has used this ability alive. However, they would most likely be left in a vegetative state. Strengths: -Increased blood flow, allowing for heightened bodily functions and processes. -The diversity of The Bleeding Marlin's ability's allows Kaken to act as a support and offense roll, though Kaken excels in the latter. -Kaken has had training in knife throwing, allowing him to fully utilize his Spears of Malice ability with ease. -Kaken has become slightly sensitive to blood movement due to his Teigu. This allows him to feel heightened or lowered blood flow from others.(Basically most of the time he is unable to read others unless their emotions are on a huge spike or if they're serenely calm) Weaknesses: -The major weakness of the Bleeding Marlin is the amount of blood loss it causes for the user. (Listed from greatest to least this is the order of how much blood loss each one causes. Bloody Game Master, Bloody limbs(4 limbs), Spears of Malice, Bleeding Exchange. Although these tend to be the average, many factors can change the order of this list.) -His Teigu lacks defensive value, in all cases a powerful strike can shatter his hardened blood as though it were glass. -Hot/dry conditions accompanied with dehydration can make his blood become even more brittle, making it even more susceptible. -Rainy conditions can make it harder to maintain his blood, making it more dense than necessary and increasing the weight behind it. -The theme of his Teigu is the concept of self-sacrifice, thus he shows weakness in large scale or long lasting fights, due to the fact that he needs to consistently sacrifice himself to use his abilities.
