That was what the Fire Nation had set themselves up as for one hundred years, and now that the war is over and there is peace, people just can't see them as anything else at the moment. He wanted to tell Jaya something to comfort her, but he felt that if he said anything wrong to her it would only make things worse. He moved his hand off of her when she began to lean against a tree, and simply stood in front of her.
