Camael nodded. "Such cruelty is to be expected of him." She thought back to the sight of Abaddon's wings and how utterly painful it must have been. To learn that it was Lucifer who had been responsible, Camael felt a chill climb up her spine. Was that fear? By attempting to aid Abaddon in a path to salvation, she would be incurring the wrath of the devil himself. If he was capable of such cruelty, such a display of strength, did Camael stand a chance? Or would she be dragged down as well? She shook away her thoughts. The light of the Creator would give her strength. She was sure of that. And now, being aware of all lf Lucifer's misdeeds, she needed to have the courage to fight. The courage to stand up to an adversity far more powerful than herself. She needed the courage to help a man who'd made a wrong choice. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord," she recited. "I believe we must speak to the Creator."
