Once again, your mortal mind fails to comprehend the level of power we hold. Though others may scorn you for your stupidity, I can only feel a modicum of pity. Darkness was merely one of the domains I've taken to control. There are others in play which I manipulate, but darkness seems to be one of my more notorious domains. The reason you don't understand is because you always attempt to compare everything to your understanding, but never attempt to put yourself in the mind of others. You, metaphorically speaking, have never been in someone else shoes. And for that I pity you, because should you somehow achieve the rank of deity, you would likely represent the ignorance of mortals and their ability to gain superiority from that ignorance. I suppose it's something to celebrate, because you've turn a hated concept into the source of your power. But only if you ever reach such a lofty position... And at your going rate, you'd sooner find yourself on the alter of Ice and Murder than ascending to godhood.
