By the way, if you sign up and make characters before the RP actually starts, you get the promotion to squaddie bonus as a reward! Rookies in ParaCom get specialized weaponry a la XCOM squaddies, depending on what they are good at. The Squaddies in ParaCom actually are a step above rookies and represent experienced troops.
