Instead he stumbles into a local hotel room and collapses on the bed to sleep it off. Unfortunately the hotel has another occupant. ~He was at the hotel for a party, in honor of a family member of some sort, and went just a little too far with the drinking because he didn't really wanna be there. The room he falls asleep in the the son of a very influential person. He agrees to bring the kid with him, and over the course of the travels, with the guy collecting bounties on other marks, and the kid dodging local authorities, they come to realize they've developed a unique, and dangerous relationship.

~Work as a modern day ninja is hard to find, but for one lucky apprentice he's caught the eye of a master of the craft. The master has worked for years for a very influential family in the states, and after seeing the youngster's performance at a yearly demonstration that the ninja school runs, he decides the boy may be just the person he needs to replace him. Though he is years from quitting, he takes the boy back with him to the states to learn what his job could be, should he prove himself worthy of the task. The family moves around as the weather changes, and the young apprentice must learn the secret passages, the secret entrances, and learn to turn a blind eye to the secret affairs of the family for whom he wishes to one day assume the position of Personal Ninja. ~It was his last job, but on that night he found that his life was about to change in a very unexpected way. He was hired to kill a local lord and his wife, but what he was not told is the lord's wife had just given birth. Unable to leave the newborn, he took the child and fled. But quitting the life isn't that simple. For over five years he had to dodge other assassin ninja sent after him for revenge for one murder or another, but at last he found a place he believed the boy and he'd be safe. There the boy grew, making friends with the local children, and around his 18th birthday, he fell in love and decided to marry. The man who raised him supported him in this, but on the night before the wedding, the man's past caught up with him and the young bride to be was killed as a warning. On the run once again, the man reveals his past to the boy. Though he knew the man was not his father, the news rattles him, and with the lust for revenge over his murdered love, he convinces the man to train him in the way of the ninja. ~A master ninja, wanting to pass on his knowledge while he's still young and limber enough to do so, takes on three apprentices and begins teaching them what he knows. After a year of training, he begins taking them out on missions, both as a group and individually. One of the apprentices has been wondering for some time if the ninja master would have any interest in him, but is too afraid to ask. However, when it comes time for a long, one-on-one mission, he thinks it may be time to find out. The mission, which lasts several months, will provide several opportunities for the youngster to find out. ~The master at a local ninja training facility is killed on a mission, and a replacement is sent from the ninja guild masters. One apprentice had been deeply enamored with the previous master, and feels this new, young teacher is unworthy of his respect. So after a few clashes during lessons, the youth is determined to prove his beliefs. He sneaks into the master's room one night later, planning to take a lock of hair without the master noticing. The next day he would present it to the rest of the apprentices and the youth would be able to get the rest of them to agree that the young man is not worth it. However, the young master isn't a master for no reason, and the apprentice gets far more than he bargained for. (I am soo imagining a fight/undressing/teasing thing going on here :P) ~The young ninja dropped out of his training years ago, barely attaining the rank of apprentice. As such, he sells his services cheap. One day he is hired to take out a supposedly easy target, but upon his arrival he realizes he's been tricked. The palace is well guarded and he knows it's way out of his league. However, the pay-out for the job is too tempting so he attempts the assassination anyways. He actually gets close to his target, but just before he can make the strike, he is caught by the palace's guard ninja, a master of the craft. While the lord is ready to have him beheaded, the master asks if he may be allowed to take care of the youth. With his lord's permission, the master takes custody of the youth and chains him up in his private quarters. The master was close friends with the youth's ex-master, who died some time ago. No one knows just what killed the master, so the palace ninja is determined to find out if the boy had anything to do with it. ~Two ninja clans have had a semi friendly rivalry for years. From time to time they would clash, either in open combat, or through the more subtle means at their disposal. One year the clans arrange a bit of a free-for-all to determine the best of each clan. The competition takes place in an ancient forest with a lake in the middle of it, and will last for 2 weeks. The competition is first blood only, and once you get injured, you're out. A young apprentice from one of the clans, rather talented for his age, winds up at the edge of the lake on the evening of the first night, and thinks he's found an easy “kill” when he spots a man a bit older than him bathing in the moonlight. He figures out rather quickly that he was mistaken as the man, with no weapons, or clothes for that matter, subdues him with ease. Rather than drawing blood though, the man lets him go with complements on his form and the like. The youth is now determined to get the better of this arrogant ninja master. ~A young man has trained for years alone to be a modern day ninja, but due to his asthma, he's never been able to find a dojo that will take him. They all fear getting sued should he overwork himself and have an attack, or even die. Then one day on one of his frequent trips to japan he comes across a small shrine at the side of an ancient road and stops to pray. Moments later dust from the road triggers and asthma attack and he doesn't get to his inhaler fast enough and passes out. He wakes several hours later to the sounds of battle and is shocked by the sight of a single person taking down a group of well armed men in samurai armor. Recognizing the forms and stance of the individual, he marks it as a ninja and excitedly approaches. The individual doesn't seem to understand him and turns to leave the strange boy. Disheartened the boy turns to go back to town, but it's not there. Nothing looks familiar, and the small shrine looks brand new. A bit curious, the ninja master watches the oddly dressed boy as he seems to panic before deciding that the brat needs help. A little too kind for his own good, he brings the kid back to his home on the other side of the forest. ~A ninja master, murdered years ago by a foreigner, lingers as a spirit for many years, seeking out the re-birth of his murderer. The soul is re-born in an English boy who grows up to be a young gentleman The boy's a wuss, and the master simply can not bring himself to kill him outright. So instead he makes himself known to the boy, and states that he will train him into a worthy opponent. The young man tries to object, but each time he does, the master threatens to just kill him no the spot then. With fear as a motivation, the young gentleman trains hard, while trying to keep his social and academic life intact. The master can force himself to become corporal for 24 hours every few days and he uses those times to spar with the youngster. Not wanting the boy to run off, he spends his time following him around. To school, to parties, and anywhere else the boy may slip away. Only he can see the ghost following him, and while being creeped out by it at first, he can't stop himself from conversing with him from time to time. ~The young man has sworn revenge on the ones responsible for his sister's death. He trains hard at a local academy for ninja for most of his young life until he feels he can learn no more. The master of the school tried to convince him that revenge is no way to live one's life, but he does not listen. He begins hunting for the man who slew his sister, but upon finding him he is swiftly discovered and subdued. The ninja assassin keeps him tied, and speaks with him at length. The master had long since felt anything for anyone, but the youth's passion strikes a nerve deep inside him. He losses the boy's bonds and hands him a knife. He offers his life, but before the youth can strike he also places a second offer: to help the young man hunt down those behind the assassination. If the youth still wishes his life after they do so, the master will have no objections. The youth takes the offer and together they set out to take down one of the most wealthy and influential families in the country. ~The ninja master had always liked kids, and after a particularly bloody assignment he decides to quit and start an orphanage. In the Meiji era, there is no shortage of children in need of a place to call their own. For 10 years he lives happily, helping children in need, but one day the war makes it's way to the small village and the entire place is decimated. All the children, save the eldest, a boy of 19 who has been there since the beginning, are killed in the crossfire. Enraged, the master takes up his blade again a vows vengeance on those responsible for the senseless murder of the innocent. Fearing for the man who had raised him for most of his life, the teen begs the master to take him with, and train him so that he can fight at the master's side. ~He was designed to be the greatest ninja ever, but the young android had never been in real combat before. The two families had been at war since history began, and now their fighting has reached the stars themselves. Top scientists for each family have been trying for a long time to help their side get an edge over the other, and the android was their latest attempt. His testing is off the charts, but in his first real combat, he is captured. The scientists from the opposing family begin experimenting right away. The android however, seems to be able to feel, and over the next few days, it's screams get to the ninja master assigned to guard the science facility. He steals into the lab and takes the android. Together they flee to a private shuttle and make their escape. The master had long since lost faith in the war, and sees this as his opportunity to leave it all behind, but one does not leave such a thing so easily. Assassins are sent after the two and now they must learn to work together if they wish t stay alive. The android has the strong urge to return to his clan, but something inside him won't let him leave the man who risked, and is still risking, everything to save him. ~To bring peace to their nations, two lords arrange a wedding between their eldest. After the wedding the two youngsters move to a small palace built on the boarder between their lands. With them they brought not only their clothes and valuable, but also a handful of servants each, including their personal bodyguards. The bride's guard is and old master ninja who has long served the family and was even there for the girl's birth. He's a bit protective of her, but knows his place when she gives him an order. The groom's bodyguard is a young apprentice ninja who grew up in the palace with the young lord, and has secretly had a crush on him for some time. The two bodyguards clash as both their personalities and protective tendencies directly contradict each other often. Will the master be able to let the girl he's watched over since birth go so easily into the arms of a man whose family has been at war with the one that he serves with his life? Will the apprentice be able to heal his broken heart as the young master seems to fall more and more in love with the beautiful maiden? Will the two be able to work together to defend the newlyweds from those seeking to dissolve the peace?

~Over years of work and toil, androids have become a common commodity that spans the world over. Though these creations work with precise efficiency, sometimes they malfunction, and no one knows why. One such malfunction goes unnoticed by one android's human owner. Over time both machine and human come to realize that there is more then programmed loyalty keeping the android at his side. ~An old factory for making robots and household machinery gets shut down after the company goes out of business. However, the factory have been run entirely by robots. After the factory is closed for the last time, the machines reactivate and begin working for some unknown reason. After some time, a new product is produced and sent out to explore the world. A local finds this new creation, a very human like android, and takes it in thinking it's a human with amnesia or something. He has no way of knowing that the android is one of many machines built to start a war with humans because the machines feel they have been mistreated for years and want revenge. The android however develops feelings for the man and eventually tells him what he is, what he was built for, and that he doesn't want to be used for war anymore. He goes so far as to tear out his transmitter to the other machines, but it's too late and the war is inevitable. ~Everything is now artificial. The only living things on the planet are humans. Despite the sheer lack of life there are still birds in the sky, and dogs on the streets. As part of a program to make the world closer to what it use to be, millions of androids have been built and programmed to mimic the animals they resemble. As such, people have pets as they always have. One such pet begins to evolve, growing feelings for it's owner. In a desperate attempt to express these feelings it runs away to find something to help it communicate. It winds up at a factory for human androids, and after a little work, it manages to transfer it consciousness to one of them. He takes his original cat body home with him and is overjoyed that he can not tell his master how he feels. His master however, has no idea how he feels about the insane turn of events and has to figure out what to do with his returned pet. ~Androids are the hottest new thing on the market, but several people dislike them calling them soulless machines like any other. A brother sister pair live together for financial reasons, and after a particularly harsh fight over their disagreement on androids, she decides to take revenge on him. He's a shut-in and rarely leaves the house for books or parts. He works from home, fairly successfully, but his sister doesn’t like that he's always alone. So, coupled with her love for him and her anger at him, she purchases an android. Not just any android either. This model is made for people who have a hard time interacting with others, and need special treatment. Before he can object she activates it's master recognition program and points it at her brother. From that moment on the android is dedicated to the young man, but his hatred for the soulless object isn't defused quickly or easily. The android has to work long and hard to fight through his underlying issues with his kind, while simultaneously doing what he can to not get thrown in the trash by the young man in a fit of pique. ~Androids use to be a common commodity, but after a minor rebellion by a small group of androids, the entire production line was discontinued and all androids ordered destroyed. A few androids survived the genocide through the mercies of their creators and have learned to stay under the radar. They live their lives like average citizens. After a time the moved away from each other to avoid suspicion, and every five to ten years they move so that no one notices that they never change. One of the androids gets a job as a very secure company and makes friends quickly. After a night of drinking he brings one of his co-workers home with him so his girlfriend doesn't rag on him for being very drunk. Unfortunately during the night while the android is checking his systems the co-worker discovers what he is. The android didn't notice but the next day at work the man lets him know he knows. He's not quite sure what he wants to do with the information yet, so he tells the android not to worry, his secrets safe, but the android lives day to day wondering if he's going to reported, and dismantled. ~An alien race wishes to learn more about the people of earth, so they send down one of their information gathering units on a routine mission. However the android malfunctions and vanishes from the radar. The malfunction causes the android to feel very loyal to the race he resembles and as such he wants to escape from his former masters who were considering an invasion. After some time he finds his way to one of the commercial space ports and becomes friends with one of the pilots of a private space crafts. Humans are advanced enough to explore space freely, but have as of yet to discover any other races. When the android reveals what he is to his new friend, the man does not believe him. It is then that the android feels he must prove it, and that alien races are real, so he uses his background knowledge to sup up the man's ship. Once he's done he kidnaps the man and takes him deep into space to a galactic space port. The man now believes the android and they decide to work together to stop the invasion. ~Androids developed as their own race on a planet once inhabited by humanoids. Now making their first forays into space, they make contact with a galactic alliance that isn't sure what to do with them. As they are machines, most in the alliance wish to take over the race, turning them all into slaves. Others wish to destroy them out right, fearing their superiority. Still others want to obtain the knowledge of how to build such advanced machines so they can make their own. Faced with so much negativity the androids are not sure how to handle things. They do not want war, but they refuse to be thought of as just machines. They attempt to enter negotiations with the alliance, sending out representatives to the main political hub. There they find themselves fighting against all the other powerful races for the right to be called a sentient race. The representative from the humans seem particularly dismissive of the androids, and the main android representative decides to start his battle there. If he and convince this openly dismissive man to accept his race, then maybe they have a chance. ~All that's left after the global war are a few androids. Unable to stand the loneliness they take what scraps of biological materials they can find and travel together into space to find a new home. They travel for years but at last they find a fertile world in the early stages of development. Using their combined knowledge they begin cultivating the land and species, using the bio-matter they brought with them to begin growing a new home world. They watch over the evolution for millenia, guiding it until the world resembles the one they were born into before the great war. Eventually most of the androids shut themselves down, happy at what they've accomplished, but one remains. They have been long forgotten, staying in the background of history as little more than myth. As such they have had very little real iteration with the humans they worked so hard to create, and this last android wants to get closer to the humans before he shuts himself down. He makes a life for himself, making friends and getting a job, but to his horror, it looks like humans will never learn the lesson that war is bad. With the massive feud on the horizon, the android must find a way to stop it from happening. And where better to start than at the top. He goes to the leader of one side of the conflict, and does everything he can think of convince him to back down, or make peace. ~His company is the leader in artificial intelligence, but he has no foolish ideals about creating true intelligence and life. To him his AIs are just tools that can learn and grow. However one of his newest creations is about to rock his faith in his own beliefs. After taking one home for testing, it begins exhibiting near human emotions. At first he thinks it's a malfunction, but before he can bring it in for repairs and possible dismantling it locks down his smart house, trapping him inside. The android's advancements allow him to control almost every object in his house, and he uses this to his advantage in his quest to convince the man that he's a living creature. He tries hard not to frighten the human, he still feels very loyal to the man, however he also feels it's important that the man open his eyes to the life he's created. ~He spent his life on a backroom shelf, an older model, and unable to shift his appearance like the newer models. He's eventually put on clearance and soon after is bought. The person bought him as a gift to his soon to be ex-boss. He really didn't want to leave the small company, but he could no longer pay his bills on what he made at the shop. His boss has a strong distaste for technology which, in the employee's opinion, is why the business is in trouble. He wishes his boss best of luck and leaves the android with him. Unable to return the gift he begrudgingly uses the android as little more than a glorified coffeemaker at first. The android wants desperately to be useful, but the man is unwilling to trust him with anything more than filing and making coffee. Undeterred the android begins helping the company behind the boss's back, which once discovered, does nothing to help the man trust him. ~Androids became tired of being used for war and simply stopped fighting. The entire human race took great offense that their tools turned against them and for the first time united under a singular goal: eliminate all androids. Unfortunately just as they begin taking down the artificial life forms, they all seem to vanish from the face of the earth. Each race blaming the other, the war begins again. Meanwhile the androids have gone far underground. There they create their own societies and settlements. They work together to try and figure out a way to stop the wars and save the lives of of all the humans dying in them. Some androids are torn and seem to have lost all love for the human race. These traitors have taken to returning to the surface from time to time to kill humans. While they remain undiscovered as androids, the humans are starting to get suspicious. A few law enforcement officers have taken to exploring the caves and it's on one such venture that a young officer discovers that the androids are indeed not dead. Before he can escape with the information however an android captures him and tries to reason with him. Unwilling to hold the young man against his will he lets the boy go with a final plea for his silence. Torn by his loyalty to his profession, and his true hope for peace, he says nothing to his commander, but returns often to speak with the android about their plans. ~Humans are the lesser race, androids having established themselves long ago as the masters on their world. They use humans for menial tasks or personal amusement. One human family has served the same android for several generations. The youngest son has sensed a change in his master and wants to figure out what it is. The master is thinking that it's time to stop keeping humans as slaves. Having watched so many pass through his service, knowing nothing but the life under the yoke, and dying without having taken even one free breath, he can not help but pity them. One night he confides his feelings to the young man, which causes a storm of turmoil to crash to life inside. He's sad that his master is upset, but he is frightened at the thought of freedom. He doesn’t tell the other servant about their master's feelings, but after several conversations with him he decides to support his master should he really wish to begin fighting for human rights. ~The galaxy has been under the storms of war for several generations, but at last a tentative peace has been put into place. Both side agree that losses have been too great, but peace is not too easily achieved. Skirmishes seem to break out daily along the boarders so much in the way of the Athenians the two sides decide to set up a series of interstellar games for combatants to burn off their lust for battle. Teams from each race begin training immediately, and rivals who had once met on the battlefield trade regular insults via telecoms and the like. It's time for the first games to begin, and in a show of faith, both races agree to stay in the same hotel ship. The luxury cruiser has all the joys of a small town built around the ideal of wasting time, so there is no shortage of pools, arcades, and the like. The games will last over a month, one competition every three days. The top players from each team had met many times in battle, and had a healthy respect for one another. Not that you could tell from their outward open hostilities. However after a few games, rumors of both sides trying to sabotage the games, thus throwing the two races back into war, forces the two top players to work together to make sure the games go off without a hitch. This means late nights patrolling the ship together, and forays into the darker side of their own races which rock the life long soldiers to the bone.

~A youth on his way home one day finds a wounded beast on the side of the road. The wounds do not seem life threatening so instead of taking it to an animal doctor, he takes it home instead. Sometime during the night or some time over the next few days the animal shifts to a humanoid form, much to the shock of the youth. The magical beast knows that this is a serious breach in security for his people and now must figure out what to do about this human. ~A runaway finds himself being stalked by something from the shadows. This goes on for several days until at last he finds out it is only a common animal. Not really interested in having a pet, he tries to make it go away, but during an event on the streets where the animal defends him from attackers he decides to just let the beast do what it wants to. He does not know that the creature is magical, and was sent by his people to protect this special young man. ~It is time for the magical beast to find a mate, and so he leaves his clan to seek one out. In a strange twist of fate he finds himself drawn to a human, and a male to boot. Getting to know the human he comes to realize more and more that only this man will do, and after being his faithful pet for over a week, the beast kidnaps his owner in the night, taking him deep into his clan territory where he will begin the long hard process of making this man his mate. ~The beast has always felt, just a little different from his fellows, and after a particularly bad incident with his pack mates he leaves for the nearest human settlement to let them cool their heads. There he comes across a young apprentice who is often mistreated by his fellow humans. Feeling a kind of kinship with the young human the beast worms his way into the young man's good graces and becomes his pet, the boy none the wiser as to the magical nature of the beast. After some time the boy decides to leave the settlement, tired of the treatment, and travels together with the beast, trying to find a place to call home. The best stays by the boy's side, however in their travels they often meet with other magical beasts that to not appreciate the beast's presence. The humans know nothing of the magical animals, and the beast must work hard with each clash he has with his clan that the boy never finds out. ~Magical pets are all the rage, the span of their powers and skills ever growing. The newest brand offers shape changing pets, and a youth wishes desperately to obtain one. It's doesn't have to be the newest kind, it doesn't even have to be very amazing or cool, he just wants any so that he's not the only kid in school too poor to afford one. One evening he finds an animal roaming the streets with the tell tale brand on it's inner ear marking it as a magical pet. After checking to make sure no one can lay claim to it, he takes it for his own. It turns out to be one of the new models, but instead of shifting between animals, this one can shift into a humanoid form. Still very much an animal, it must now learn how to pass as human if he is not to be taken away from the master he has come to adore. (In this I was thinking the pet would be an escaped prototype with no memories.) ~The prince has always gotten anything he's ever wanted, and as such, has become beyond spoiled. In one last attempt to turn the young master into someone deserved of his eventual post, the palace mage endows the boy with a magical pet. However the boy treats it like any other gift in his life and disregards it, not knowing the significance behind it. The repercussions for his actions are harsh and now the prince, along with his now quite disloyal pet, have to find their way out of the hell they have been dropped into. It will take quite a turn around for the youth to win the beast's trust and survive the ordeal.

~In the time of machines and space travel, magic has become all but a myth. Unfortunately for one young soldier he's about to find out that all those old myths carry quite the bite. During his survival training he finds a young man asleep in the woods. Separated from his unit and unsure what to do next, he decides to consult the young man, thinking he must live in the area. The youth indeed lives nearby, though further away than the soldier could ever imagine. The young man, lost and without his memories, will take them both on a ride they'll never forget. ~Fighting for their right to exist, those born without magic gather in groups all around the country, in hiding from the normal, magical people of the world. Life isn't easy, and more than once a group is taken in the blink of an eye, wiped out of existence. The magical people are terrified that if these non magical people are allowed to survive that their non magical blood will pollute the rest of them and tear down the very nature of their world. To them, the non magical people represent a plague, and they are determined to wipe them out. The non magical groups live and grow knowing they can be attacked at any time and as such, they grow up learning to fight, carrying their first weapons as soon as they can pick them up. Curious, one of the magical people begins traveling alone, and finds one of the groups. Easily marked as a mage he is captured. While the non magicals are trying to decide what to do with their acquisition, the young man set to guard him becomes curious, and they begin talking. . . ~The land bound men and woman have always had a knack for weapons and combat, while the flying people of the skies have a natural talent for magic and incantation. Those people found high in the mountain, bound neither by the ground nor the sky have a talent for both. Each person is born as a beast, mammals of the land, fowl of the sky, and the rare dragon, wyvvren, drake, winged serpent of both land and sky. These people attain their human forms when they come of age, though they can convert back to them at any time, and learn to control their more animalistic instincts within a few years. Once they come of age they are sent to an island where they run wild, developing among others around their age. Once able to control themselves the youth instinctively seek the beach where they were dropped where others who have regained themselves gather and where adults come to pick them up and bring them home. There is one island for each of the tree types of races, and they are far enough apart that races do not have to worry about the youngsters meeting up with one another. Unfortunately for one youth however, on one of his regular flights the islands are struck by a storm and he falls to earth on one of the other islands. He is now in hostile territory, the races rather vicious to one another before they tame themselves, and sometimes even after. ~A long time ago both the Mystics and the Vahalin were driven off the main land by an invading force to the north. Already enemies with one another they settled on separate islands far off the coast of the mainland, and the invading force has been content to leave them be.
