I don't really see the Mary Sue aspect. It's not like she doesn't have her own problems to deal with.

Plus, at least she wasn't a full-fledged companion. She was only around in certain episodes, and then stopped being a thing even before Eleven's run was over. (Also I cosplayed her once, so I admit to being biased.) 

Even so, one character you dislike seems like a kind of sad reason to "lose faith" in a show that's been around for almost 51 years now and has been through [i]plenty[/i] of slumps that it's managed to get out of. I mean, the show thrives on change. It changes constantly. If you have anything against any character, writer, or anyone else involved with the show, it's unlikely they'll be around for more than a few years.

:hehe I guess that's why the Doctor likes them so much. They put up with a lot, and managed to survive to the end of the universe. That's awfully impressive.
