Description: A nation with a long and rich culture, the Bennipolitans had a golden age many centuries ago. While after their decline they have been subjugated and ruled by other nations and empires, Bennipolis has finally remerged as a global contender. A blend of the present and the past, they accept the advances of the 18th century (1700’s), yet they still embrace their ancestral customs and practices. While Bennipolis is a large, walled city with an acropolis where the majority of their important religious structures reside, the other populated areas within their territory are rather rural, being confined to villages and small towns. Since Bennipolis is just one city-state (along with other smaller cities and villages in the neighboring area), she cannot muster the forces like other larger nations do. However, what they lack in quantity, they make up with quality. Furthermore, a large army is unnecessary when one rules the waves. The Bennipolitan navy outmatches navies of other nations, securing the nearby waters. This allows them to become a safe haven for trading. While the land in which Bennipolis is located is not the most fertile or resource rich, being able to craft valuable goods makes up for it, although this might become a problem if they cannot get international imports to feed their populace and fuel their workshops. Language: Bennipolitan Greek Currency: Bennipolitan Drachma Religion: Similar to Ancient Greek polytheism.
