The creature darts around the sludge, drinking it up happily, starting to take a sort of shape, a deformed cross between a bug, and a snake. Already it cries, in pain, as it thrashes about.

Then the mechanical arm goes silent, something seeming to deactivate the controls, as it floats on top of the sickenly thick liquid...and you feel a shallow breath against the back of your neck. "....don't hurt it......" A female voice says.
