I'm sure the trek into the wilderness could be tense with the plan not working, maybe Katniss mad at Prim (until they make up) and maybe some sexual tension between Haymitch and Katniss and there's the fact they didn't know about the plan, well Haymitch slightly knew...and Katniss could be mad at everyone.
