Born as the bastard son of a town's mayor and a crack whore, he was thrown into an orphanage at birth, far away from the town of his birth. He was always feared by the schoolyard bullies, whom he would pick on, all in defense of the weaker children. Yet, for all his popularity, he was never truly popular, smart, or athletic for that matter. On his eighteenth birthday, he joined the local police, as an intern. While there, he witnessed firsthand the corruption of the city police. As a religious man, he prayed that they see justice done to them. One night, he was granted his wish; his god had answered him. [i]"MARTIN. LONG HAVE I SEEN YOUR SUPPOSED FAITH IN ME, AND NOW I SEE THAT YOU, OF ALL MY CHILDREN, WILL BE AN INSTRUMENT TO MY WILL!"[/i] Martins powers were granted that night, given if he could survive the horrible side-effects of his powers. He was granted the power of rot, stagnation, and festering diseases, at the cost of the failure of his nerves, disabling all feeling.
[hider=Powers] Abessus has the power to rot his surroundings to ruin. While unnaturally effective and deadly, he must use sped-up regeneration to heal his ravaged organs. Every time he uses his powers, his organs also are ravaged by his powers.
Rot Blast: Clenching his fist, he causes an invisible rot to consume his foes. Slow, but painfully effective.
The Touch of Death: Touching the target, he focuses his powers on his hands, rotting the target even faster.
Ruinous Explosion: Screaming at the pain his body endures, a fifty foot radial blast of sheer rot explodes from his form. The effect is almost always instantaneous desiccation, and the ground at his feet looks as though an explosion had occurred. While extremely powerful, he must rest for a full week, to allow his liquified organs to regenerate.
Heal: He speed up his healing powers to allow a quick heal in combat.
Strenght: He has superhuman strength, to a mild degree[/hider]

Martin carries the following weapons and equipment.
Glock pistol: A simple pistol, yet armed with armor piercing rounds in an extended magazine.
Warhammer: Upon recieving his powers, he was given multiple items to aid him. One such item is this adamantium one-handed warhammer.
Armor of Faith: A suit of slim, stone gray armor, strong enough to deflect small arms fire. No helmet included.
