@Damiann47 That's just it, the Icelanders haven't left their Island for a wicked long time, and as they are the wealthiest nation, they don't need to send out traders to the Silent World (which is forbidden to common people, BTW) when they can employ Swedens, Norwegians, and Finns to do it for them. And as far as the Nordic Council knows, NO ONE has survived outside of the safe/cleansed zones. So, it is impractical for your character to know even a little bit of Icelandic. Switch to Finnish, if you want to be able to communicate with the group.
