They will vary, really. You might face a single 100 meter creature, or five twenty meter creatures. There's no uniform size, though I'm not going to be that guy that makes you fight something the size of a continent.

The monster itself won't always be the only challenge, though- sometimes the people and politics of the area in question cause difficulties, or someone seeks to profit off the kaiju, that sort of thing.
