Splendidy! Here is one I got, I may make another character or two - but want to ensure I don't overload myself with an RP load I can't handle or anything like that.
Image: (Coming soon to a CS near you!) Name: Frederick ‘Freddie’ Butler Age: 34 Gender: Male Suit: The Clubs Card: Seven of Clubs Personality: Freddie was once a young enthusiastic lad serving under the British army, filled with dreams of glory and inspired to be the best he could be. Six years, two dead best friends and a dishonourable discharge later and he was nothing like the boy who had once enlisted, his personality now that of a cynical and experienced soldier. He cares little for the lives of others and is thoroughly disillusioned at the state of things in the world, fed up with the British Empire and all of its pomposity. He is somewhat cruel, aggressive and sarcastic when it comes to general day to day dealings. That being said one thing he values above most is loyalty, feeling as if he was betrayed by his own country he looked elsewhere for a more ‘worthy’ cause to support that the monarch and her ‘fat arse’ as he puts it. As such he is loyal beyond a doubt to his current master – the Game Master, and carries out his instructions to the letter. He is generally a strong willed man, however his vices are tobacco, gambling and of course, women (paid or otherwise). Biography: Joining up at the age of 18 with his two best friends Freddie was once a fine young boy, enjoying the sense of duty and comradery that the army afforded him. After their training the trio was sent to participate in the Anglo-Afghan war, and were stationed there permanently after their initial victory. All seemed well until the British began to lose control after several disastrous moves by their commanders, which lead directly to the death of Freddie’s closest friend Phillip. Phillip was temporarily assigned to protect the British commander Macnaghten, however due to his incompetence and deceptive nature the commander was seized and killed along with three other officers and their guards, their bodies being dragged around the streets of Kabul before displayed in the bazaar. After this and several other disasters Major-General Elphinstone made an agreement was reached that provided for the safe exodus of the British garrison and its dependents from Afghanistan. The departing British contingent numbered around 16,500, of which about 4,500 were military personnel, and over 12,000 were camp followers, however they were attacked by Ghilzai warriors as they struggled through the snowbound passes and were killed in huge numbers as they made their way down the 30 miles of treacherous gorges and passes lying along the Kabul River. Freddie and three Indian soldiers were the only surviving members of the battalion that made it to reach Jalalabad as they managed to fight their way through the chaos despite the overwhelming odds. Once safe they were branded as traitors for ‘deserting their posts’, despite the fact that they had each fought until out of ammunition and their swords and bayonets were damaged beyond use. The Indian troops were executed and he was given a dishonorable discharge, leading to his drastic change in character. He spent several years in India as a drunken lout and with serious gambling debts, which lead to his descent into the criminal world where he soon began to flourish due to his skills, most notably as a marksman – however was still disappointed by the almost constant betrayals of the men he worked with . After returning to Britain it was not long before he attracted the attention of the man known as ‘The Game Master’ and was soon working for him, though initially he did not know this. After proving himself most useful as an enforcer and assassin, he was soon inducted into the deck of 52 and has since been moving his way slowly up the pack. In return the Game Master has paid Freddie well and using his numerous connections has removed the dishonorable discharge from his name – earning Freddie’s absolute loyalty and devotion. Why you are part of The Game: He not only respects, but also trusts the game master completely. He is very happy with his ‘organisation’ and the fear and loyalty he breeds amongst his followers. Freddie would follow any instructions given to him by the Game Master, even if it ultimately costs him his life. How did you ascend to the position you are in now: Careful and loyal hard work. The Game Master of course tested Freddie several times before he was accepted into the pack, playing games that would see just how loyal this former soldier was by tempting him with not only money, but offers of women and power as well if he were to betray his hidden employer only slightly. Freddie not only refused any of these false offers, but also reported them back to his employer, telling nothing but the truth. His ascension is due to his many successes in the jobs he has been given, and he has even rooted out several traitors from the deck who have since been dealt with. He trusts completely in the Game Master and his plans, never questioning, but only obeying. Playing these games have once more given him a purpose.
