[hider=TheChancellor's Katryn Hohenzollern] NAME: Katryn Hohenzollern AGE: 32 SEX: F NICKNAME: Empress (Originally Kaiserin, translated for your convenience). She earned this nickname because of her last name being associated with the German royal family. DESCRIPTION: Katryn is, overall, a large woman. Standing just above six and a half feet tall, and weighing 220 pounds, she has a muscular build on a large frame. Despite this though she appears somewhat lithe and limber due to her height, an appearance that is complimented by her sharp, defined facial features which are rarely framed by her remarkably long, deep copper hair as she usually keeps it in a tight French braid that falls past her waist. She also has a fair amount of freckles just below her grey-blue eyes. She is not particularly battle worn, being relatively young, and as such retains a bit of her youthful radiance, though is not particularly beautiful, she is not entirely unattractive either, despite being a multiple tour combat veteran. Her only significant scars cannot be seen unless you catch her working out in a sports bra and shorts as she has a spread of multiple jagged scars up the left side of her thigh and abdomen where she took several pieces of shrapnel from an IED explosion. She also has various minor scars on her face and hands from the brief, occasional fistfight. PERSONALITY: Depending on the kind of day she's having Katryn generally has two moods, gruff or amicable. She is never particularly friendly, but she is never particularly unfriendly either. She likes to keep to herself for the most part, but is willing to be friendly in the right circumstances, generally this requires alcohol though, of which she is very fond. She spends most of her time with her guns, which she considers to be better friends than most humans, which simply serves to reinforce her misanthropy. Katryn has a very strong sense of justice, some say it might be a little too strong and this is will often manifest in what might be considered cruelty and she may even be willing to look the other way if some otherwise unjustifiable act might occur that she considers just. Besides this sense of justice, Katryn is primarily motivated by a desire for a life of action, money means very little to her, though she does not mind being paid well. She dislikes being idle for long periods of time, which has proven useful in the sense that she is constantly trying to learn new things in order to occupy her time. ATTIRE: Katryn's combat gear is a fairly standard German Army set-up that she recreated herself upon joining the Dreadnaughts as a hold over from her origins in the Bundeswehr. Over an undershirt of some kind, usually a tank top, she wears a button down, long sleeve shirt, a ballastic plate carrier, a tactical vest, and a chest rig, in that order. Standard BDU pants, knee and elbow pads, a kevlar helmet, combat boots, hand tape, and gloves. All in situationally appropriate camoflauge. WEAPON OF CHOICE: While Katryn is generally comfortable with any general purpose machine gun, she is most accustomed to her very own custom MG3 (with Der Blitz scrawled across the body of the gun in silver paint just above the grip), another hold over from her Bundeswehr days. Of course a light machine gun is not well suited for all combat situations so Katryn sticks to German firearms for the most part. In a direct combat role, rather than a support role, she will often alternate between the H&K HK-417 and the H&K G-36C with a H&K USP as a sidearm, very rarely, if the situation calls for it she will use a Model 870 shotgun or a H&K UMP, though she tries to avoid smaller weapons if at all possible. Typical modifications include a laser sight, a foregrip, and various different other sights. MUGGING: She beats the snot out of him and then gives him the money from her wallet anyway. BIOGRAPHY: Born and raised in Bavaria, Katryn has always had an affinity for mountains, she traveled all over Europe as a teenager, always looking for bigger, better mountains to climb, to ski down, to hike. She even took a few trips elsewhere in pursuit of mountains, but she always returned home, to the base of the looming Alps in southern Germany. It was here too, in a little city called Füssen where she discovered that this love of mountains had a practical application and so it came to pass that Katryn joined the Gebirgsjäger, Germany's very own mounain infantry. It was more or less a dream come true for Katryn because if there was one thing that she loved as much as mountains it was guns and the bigger the better, in both cases. She had spent much of the time she didn't spend traveling with her father at their local range, where she became a rather exceptional shot, in correlation with her skiing abilities, she became an formidable biathlon participant, though not quite formidable enough for the German Olympic biathlon team. All this experience translated further into her being an exceptional member of the Gebirgsjäger, as both and excellent shot and a competent athlete, she was perfect for the job. So perfect, in fact, that after just three years in the service of the Bundeswehr and two tours of duty in Iraq, she was tapped for service in the Kommando Spezialkräfte, or KSK, Germany's premier special forces division, which she accepted gladly and continued to serve with them for the duration of Germany's involvement in the Iraq War. Unfortunately for Katryn firearms expertise and valuable life experience were not all she had acquire in the military. She had also become very fond of the devil's drink, a little too fond. This became evident when she brutally beat a man in a bar while off duty after she rebuffed multiple advances and he got a little handsy. The Bundeswehr determined that while her actions may have been justified, the severity was unwarranted and they ruled that she would need to complete an addiction rehabilitation course in order to continue her services. Knowing full well though that even if she did complete this course, she would most likely end up doing clerical work for the rest of her career, she refused and was dishonorably discharged which caused her to spiral a bit out of control before she realized that she was throwing a lot away just because the German government told her she couldn't continue serving, so upon hearing about it from a friend of a friend, Katryn joined the Dreadnaughts as a support weapons specialist. TALENTS: Katryn is fluent in multiple languages including Arabic, Kurdish, and Farsi. She is a decent, but untrained, mechanic and has some limited medical knowledge. Katryn is an excellent skier and climber, and as part of her outdoor recreation adventures became licensed as a bush pilot in both the United States and Canada. Katryn also learned the piano from her mother and possesses a fair degree of skill. ROLE: Katryn is a support weapons specialist. This includes proficiency with a degree of support weapons, though she specializes in machine guns of the heavy and light variety. However Katryn is more than capable with a wide variety of support weapons platforms including, but not limited to: surface-to-air missles (i.e. FIM-92 Stinger), anti-armor platforms (FGM-148 Javelin, AT-4, RPG-7), and anti-personnel/light anti-armor platforms (Milkor MGL, Mk 19 grenade launcher, Mk 47 Striker). She is also capable of operating slightly larger infantry support weapons such as the M3 howitzer and various artillery pieces like it. As stated though, she is particularly fond of machine guns with which she is proficient in most varieties, preferring light machine guns for their high rate of fire and portability, but more than capable of operation mounted and generally stationary Mgs such as the M2HB. Fast, strong, and durable, she can deal out quite a bit of punishment. Unarmed Combat, Finesse: 7. Perhaps better suited for raw force-style combat, but by no means ungraceful. Unarmed Combat, Brute: 8. Bar fighter extraordinaire. Marksmanship: 8. She can spray AND pray. Explosives: 7. Familiarity with explosives before; particularly with shoulder-mounted weapons. Tactics: 4. While a skilled soldier, she’s a bit lacking in the strategist category. Operating: 4. She’d rather be gunning the turret mounted on top than driving the car. Medicine: 3. Maybe cauterizing wounds…? Sneaking: 3. Nothing personal, but very rarely are 220 lb, six feet people good at tiptoeing. Mechanics: 4. Fair amount of experience handling a wide array of weaponry and gear, but not trained as an engineer or Seabee. Camouflage: 5. Some experience due to her mountain infantry days, but machineguns and rockets don’t play well with facepaint and ghillie suits. Survival: 5. Survival training-the fundamentals at least-were a part of her infantry training. Persuasion: 3. She’s no Mark Antony. Intimidation: 7. She and Arnold meet up and discuss tips on this once a month. Regulation: 2. She’s not exactly a calming presence. Lying: 4. Lay on the German accent and hope they, out of politeness, don’t ask you to repeat yourself. Leadership: 3. Maybe in a “if I don’t follow her orders she might kill me with her bare hands” sort of way. Willpower: 7 Morale: 7 Stamina: 8 Health: 8 SPECIALIZATION: Weapon Proficiency: general purpose machine guns [b]PERKS[/b] [b] BENCH PRESS [/b] [i]Prerequisites: Strength: 3[/i] Hey, man, you been working out? Your character's tough. Through a solid workout regimen and great genes, your character's never been mistaken for a featherweight. Owing to your great physique, your character receives a +1 Modifier to any Brute Combat checks-that's Unarmed Combat, Brute, and Melee Combat, Brute. Also, you can crush soda cans against your head like really easily. [b] KNUCKLEDRAGGER KNUCKLEDUSTER [/b] [i] Prerequisites: Strength: 4 [/i] At least once in your life, you caught a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and briefly questioned why a silverback gorilla was stuck inside your mirror. Your character's in great shape and quite powerful, whether it's from doing ten thousand one-handed pushups a night or simply choosing to invest in one of those Shake Weight things. Your character will receive a +1 Modifier to any non-combat rolls where raw physical power is helpful-so, for example, lifting up a couch to help a friend move in. While your friend is still on the couch. [b]PIROUETTE[/b] [i]Prerequisites: Dexterity: 3 [/i] Whether it's on the dance floor or the battlefield, your character's pretty graceful. As a result of their natural quickness and reflexes, your character gains a +1 Modifier to Finesse Combat rolls, owing to how damned hard it is to punch someone that doesn't ever stay still. [b]FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY...[/b] [i]Prerequisites: Dexterity: 4 [/i] Light on your feet is one apt way of describing you. Another apt way of describing you is "a mothafuckin' ninja". Your character's keen eyes and precise fingers translates into a +1 Marksmanship Modifier along with a +1 Modifier to any Reflex-based situation, like reacting after being ambushed or something. [b]CROSS FIT[/b] [i]Prerequisites: Constitution: 3 [/i] In elementary school, you always came in first ahead of the other kids when you ran the mile. In the Dreadnaughts, you still do. Your character's in great shape and always gets the all-clear from the doctor when you go in for your routine checkups. As a result of your body being so healthy, all Medicine rolls applied to you have a Modifier of +1. Your character also resists poisons and toxins more easily: all rolls against toxins and poisons have a +1 Modifier. [b]TWENTY SIX POINT TWO[/b] [i]Prerequisites: Constitution: 4[/i] Your body’s in tip-top shape. Your focus on cardio grants you a +1 Modifier to any Unarmed and Melee Combat rolls, as you’re able to throw more punches without tiring yourself out. Additionally, you’ll start missions with a Health and Stamina of 8 as opposed to 7 [b]CHECKMATE[/b] [i]Prerequisites: Intelligence: 3[/i] Your character’s quite sharp. Not much else to say, ya know? As a result, you receive a +1 to Tactics, Survival, and Medicine rolls. Stay in school, kids. [b]BIG HOSS[/b] [i]Prerequisites: Strength: 3 Constitution: 4 OR Strength: 4 Constitution: 3 Character must not be small-framed.[/i] Your character’s clearly been hitting the gym. A lot. Your impressive physique and bulky swoleness lends itself to a +2 Modifier to Intimidation rolls, along with a +1 to Brute Combat checks. Unfortunately, you’re not exactly able to sneak around so well, so Camouflage and Sneaking rolls both suffer -1 Modifiers. You could, perhaps, try and blend in as a nearby mountain. [b]BATTLE SCARRED, I[/b] [i]Prerequisites: Has a disfiguring scar on their body as a result of combat.[/i] Your character’s been around the block before. Whether it was a bullet, a bomb, or a bayonet, you’ve got some scars and stories to share when the Dreadnaughts go drinking after a mission. As a result, your experience lends itself to a slower degradation of Morale. Unfortunately, you’re not able to qualify for the [b]LAMB GONE ASTRAY[/b] perk, and your scars can be used to identify you if you attempt to disguise yourself. NOTE: On account of you saying that her scars were minor, I didn’t think it prudent for Katryn to have the BATTLE SCARRED, II perk, which requires a more prominent scar on the face. [b]THEY CALL ME mESSENGER[/b] [i]Prerequisites: Character has experience with fighting in arboreal settings, or extensive hunting experience Character has no other environmental perks[/i] Shh. It’s wabbit season. Your character’s extensive experience tiptoeing over pine straw, crouching for hours in a tree stand, or perhaps even military training in the art of face paint and then crouching for hours somewhere has resulted in their being at ease in the woods. They’ll gain +2 to Survival checks in the woods, as well as +1 to Sneaking checks and Marksmanship checks. NOTE: On account of her mountain training, I was torn between giving her the forest environment perk or the arctic environment perk. I think this helps round out her weaknesses better, so I’ll give her this unless you prefer the other. [b]PERSONAL PERK: SCHADENFREUDE[/b] Katryn is, if nothing else, quite the Amazonian. Strong, tough, and able to handle a machinegun-were she a real person, I’d be trying to get her number through you. Alas, she is fictional. However, the severe amounts of ass-kicking she can deliver are no less real for that. She can take advantage of her male adversaries considering her some poor little fraulein who’s wandered away from home-with her first strike in a Melee or Unarmed scuffle, she’ll receive a bonus for catching her enemies off-guard with her ferocity.
