I think he gives people at the V.A time off or something, I don't really get it but it's happened before close to a holiday. If anything, she'll be in the kitchen but happy to rest and I have to pretend I haven't slept half the day away (ex: look productive). If I recall you're 2-3 hours ahead of me...I won't do any cooking until tomorrow afternoon (which I expect both us will be pretty busy). Hopefully your pies turn out good, it's hard to bake them and not wanna eat them now.
