Cooper practically went bonkers when the red-healer came down the stairs, and no amount of orders could call him back, as he bounded happily, barking foolishly, he wriggled excitedly, and tested the waters, darting close to Haley to see what she would do, seeming to concentrate, to be ready to jump back. Kalinda watched him, since it seemed easier then looking at Michael. She merely nodded, not trusting her own voice, having been responsible for him being alone. She didn't trust her expression either, so she kept her face as carefully blank as she could, watching the two dogs. Finally she looked to Michael, her expression troubled, tortured as her control slipped. And because they both needed to hear it, or at least she thought they did, she said softly. "I've never stopped loving you" she swallowed, and then lost her nerve and looked away. She struggled with her self, internally, for a minute, and then said softly, clearly looking for an escape, "I'll um, go pack away the left overs. No sense letting them go to waste" it was cowardly, she knew. But she just couldn't help it
