[quote=ThatOneGuy] The title says it all.I used to be a member of RPG before the great crash. I then come back...to this....First of all there are no staff members, or in fact very little. In fact, I've seen some migrate to Iwaku. And I don't blame them because honestly Iwaku is pretty much like the rpguild of old. There's literally no updates. It's been barebones for a year. I understand that one person is in charge...But why? Jesus, let someone help Mahz. Share the website code with someone trusted. I'm sure someone with the expertise would be willing.Or ask for anon donations to hire a professional web designer. Because the way it is now, it's complete shit. Don't even try to sugarcoat it.QQcode is a piece of garbage compared to BBcode. There is much less options, and it always has problems. You can't change the font much other than bold, italicized, or other insignificant stuff we don't really fucking use. This website is like the sorry crappy under budget sequel of the old rpg, never fulfilling to the prequel.Iwaku is the new RPG honestly, fuck all. [/quote] [quote=Jorick] Except they haven't. If you're gonna pull the butthurt rant maneuver you should at least try to get your facts straight.Again, nope. Very different community, not very similar to RPG at all. You're dumb. [/quote] I have to agree with Jorick on both of these points. Iwaku has other things that make it different than RPG, first one being the donations, second being the more relaxed community and how easy going it is there. They have Smut Roleplay sections and aren't against some rather adult content that RPG is. RPG is PG 13+, Iwaku is a tad bit more mature in some areas. The Moderators are also rather different and how the site runs overall is different, even in comparison to old guild. Also, some members did migrate, it's what happens. But than again some members, like myself is still here as well. Members that don't like how a place runs tends to leave for what they think better fits them, They're leaving because of their free will and this was always happening since even the beginning of RPG. New members come in, they don't like what they see, they leave. Old members are on the site playing around, then they get bored, and then they too leave. Nothing has changed at all. Stop talking like RPG is complete and total trash and Iwaku is the holy grail. It's not helping at all. In fact, RPG being so bare gives it a lot of opportunity to be something more when worked on and given said opportunity. Now that that was said... You did make a lot of good points. Mahz has promised several times that he'll work on RPG and fix a lot of issues, and even claimed to take an entire week just for that in exact. It's been almost a year and little to no progress has been made and the site isn't getting better and members are giving up on it because it's no longer showing as much promise as it once did. Though we need to remember that Mahz is a very busy guy and has a job and is paying for the site, with or without ads to help. I'm not saying he's lazy or bad or even careless about RPG and I'm definitely not saying that he should give away RPG though the OP is right in the fact that maybe it's time Mahz asks for help or something so the site could be better, the exact way HE wanted it to be, sooner. And maybe he could be able to do something to expand it so the white screen of hell is no longer up. Honestly I would REALLY like to see RPG have actual buttons for BBCode... I'd love to see profiles back up AND them be customization. Hell I'd love to see people put customization posts up (and the ability to see the guild without the custom post box things like that one person with the space cat thing). Deleting posts and them actually being deleted? Fucking magical! Colors for posts? Hell Yeah! Dragon (User custom) Emoticons? OMFGOMFGOMFGOMFGOMFGYESYESYESYESYES!!! (Now I'm getting ahead of my self.) But these things aren't free in any way, shape or form overall. Either it's paid by time or by cash for someone else to pay their time for it. Mahz needs both and still needs to update the site and that's also both time and money. I think the biggest thing here is that the people that are leaving the guild are tired of being alone and left in the dark. We're all looking for Mahz and still he's nowhere in sight and we all really do need him on RPG again, showing his face around and being with the community. When this place started I didn't care how bad it was, it was new... But Mahz was still there engaging in conversation and talking with everyone in the community. HE WAS HERE! He was with us and trying his best for us at the time. I'm still thankful for the things he DID bring and make... like the Tabletop and the NationRP Forum sections. I love the new PM system and all that... but now it feels more empty and alone than ever because we literally have nobody able to fix the site up the way we want and it's not as fun as it used to be because there is no leadership to talk to about these problems. So yeah, if someone could please get a hold of Mahz and talk to him or something and get him here and actually have him work things out with the guild members again and even work on the site a bit again that would be wonderful. I'd LOVE for some more updates on the update board and him back in the community talking with everyone about everything. Cause when he was here doing that, THAT was awesome! Edit: For now, some of you might be asking what you can even do in this current situation? Personally, I don't 100% know... What I do know is that we should encourage Mahz to come back and actually work on the site again... let us in on some information and on the "what dos" and "What hows" that he's been doing in the guild itself. We need to still be proud of the guild, even if it is in such a "pitiful state" and just be patient on it. If we all can encourage Mahz to not only want to work on the site, but at least be on it again once a day every day and be addicted to it maybe that'll help a bit. I'm not saying this will actually work, peoples' brains all run differently... but I am saying it's better than complaining on the negatives and doing nothing about it.
