Yeah, I agree, and Pema should at least have a great monument or gravestone. Tenzin's recovery might vary but I think given a couple weeks he might be strong enough to talk about it, the children on the other hand would still hurt. I think Katara's going to be staying for some time.

Which is why time SKIPS are a thing xP I won't go into natures of the pairings children though, as tempting as it is. Let's just worry about getting everyone full romantically involved and leave the spawns to a much later discussion.
