Mmhmm. Nova is a "Lady of Order," a being who controls order. The Lady of Order is a reincarnating position, and all the old Ladies of Order stay alive in the collective mind, a magical combination of all of their separate consciousnesses. Nova is the first Lady of Order, who was sealed away in the mind for a long time, and Ruby is the latest Lady of Order. Nova's seal started to slowly disintegrate, and Nova's consciousness slipped into Ruby's part of the mind on accident. Nova's mind is pushing out Ruby's mind, and if they don't stop it, Ruby exiting the collective mind would permanently cripple the foundations of the reincarnations.

The collective mind is very physically oriented, with each mind like a large library with many pathways. Each memory, piece of knowledge, and so forth is like a display. Is that enough explanation?
