As for why I didn't put in much about certain regions while writing this draft of the history, it's because I don't know nearly enough about them to do this roleplay justice. You can be sure that I will go on a wikipedia binge for the IC if I put it up.

As for what happened to the Natives, many were conquered or wiped out, but some groups realized what the colonists were after and started to sell it to them. It can be assumed that Native corporations exist, and control a large portion of the mining operations.
