He spent most of his young life looking up to guys like MacGyver and Bear Grylls, intrigued by the survivalist mentality. Endless amounts of research led to a vast knowledge of survival skills, weaponry and first-aid which he is now thankful for - given the current environment. When he was in his mid-twenties, the infection struck, wiping out a considerable amount of Earth's population. Miguel's parents both fell victim to the virus, as did most of his friends & acquaintances. However, loaded with knowledge, he himself managed to survive, traveling and scavenging to get by.
