[*]Name: Ashley Dragoslava Zilberschlag[/*] [*]Number: 3[/*] [*]Age: 20[/*] [*]Gender: Female[/*] [*]Appearance: Something like this![/*] [*]Personality: The most immediately noticable thing about Ashley is how forceful she seems. She is outspoken and proud; both a perfectionist and something of a control freak. She will try her best to ensure that things go her way, and are on her terms, and gets rather irritable when this isn't the case. Not to say that she's not a team player or anything, just that she thinks that the team should be playing with her and not the other way around. However, she's not a bad person, per say, just something of an egotist; she is at heart a well-intentioned woman, partially due to her belief in noblesse oblige. Coming from a more traditionalist mage family, she is rather wary of more advanced technologies, and finds it difficult to wrap her head around computers, mobile phones and other such things; clearly they are made to aid those without magical prowess, so an accomplished mage such as herself does not need to bother with such things (and it's definitely not because she can't admit that she just doesn't understand how they work, honest!). Ashley happens to be something of a workaholic, not just because she is a perfectionist but because she hopes that if she becomes a reknowned magi her family will regain some of their lost recognition.[/*] [*]Abilities: Possesses incredibly high quality mana, although this is somewhat balanced out by the fact that fittingly for her perfectionist tendencies, it's more a case of quality over quantity. She is able to cast rather powerful and intricate spells, but her mana supplies run out rather quickly, leading her to have to be pragmatic when it comes to magic use. Ashley, and the rest of her family, possess an affinity for Ice, so naturally most of her spells are focused on ice, snow, cold and stasis. Amongst her spells, the most notable are Frostcast, a barrage that takes the form of a flock of birds formed of ice; Icicle Blade, a rather unsubtle spell that creates a sword of frost in her hands; and Glacial Barrier, a wall of ice that works as a defensive spell. In order to boost her spellcasting abilities, she usually carries some basic theurgy supplies, including some high quality chalk that has been mixed with some of her own blood for use in drawing magic circles. Whilst it is her speciality, not all of her spells are ice-based, and she has a basic knowledge of low level spells of the other elements with one notable exception; Ashley's affinity makes it rather difficult for her to truly master fire magic, and since she doesn't care about things she can't master, she knows only the most very basic of fire spells, and she's still not all that good at them. As noted above, Ashley isn't very skilled with modern technology, and is usually far more comfortable (not to mention skilled) with looking up information in a dusty old grimoire than on one of those new-fangled computers. Finally, Ashley's cooking skills are so absolutely abysmal that her inability to make anything more complicated than a basic sandwich is notable as a "skill" of sorts.[/*] [*]Equipment: Ashley carries with her Baculi Magia, a magic staff originally created by her ancestor Vance Zilberschlag that she has had converted into a lilac parasol. To make up for her limited mana supplies, she is able to "store" up three spells inside it, allowing her to have a set of pre-prepared spells to cast without using any of her mana. As noted above, Ashley also carries various basic theurgy supplies, as well as a supply of chalk that has been mixed with a small quantity of her own blood.[/*] [*]History: Born to the at-the-time prestigious Zilberschlag family, Ashley's early years were spent being taught not only the secrets of magic but that she must live up to her family's prestige and never besmirch their name through dishonour or failure. The Zilberschlags were an old family, steeped in tradition and pride, and even as their mana capacity waned with each generation the quality of their mana remained strong. However, whilst most of the family were content to be the best they could, and had plans to marry into other old families in hopes of producing an heir with a large amount of high quality mana, there was one amongst them who cursed their weakening power. Elijah Zilberschlag, grandfather of Ashley, began obsessing over a way to increase the family's mana stores, and what began as simple research soon became something much darker. Using the family's affinity for ice, he began kidnapping other mages, freezing them solid in order to preserve them for later experimentation. Whatever he was doing with them, it quickly turned... Messy. Eventually, the smell of splattered corpses drew others to his workshop, and all were horrified when the results of his experiments were revealed. Worse still, amongst the victims were missing members of several prestigious mage families... As soon as the news broke and he was carted off to an asylum, the Zilberschlags' reputation took a massive hit. Even with their age and prestige, the things Elijah had done left them with a black stain. Ashley tried to take this all in her stride, despite the revelations and the change in how other mages treated her. Even if her grandfather had devolved into an insane monster, she would prove to everyone that he was an isolated case, and that the Zilberschlags were still worthy of the prestige they once received. Having been enrolled at the Tower, she tried her best to excel at anything she did, and eventually her quest to restore her family's honour led to her joining the Citadel Six...[/*]
