You mean his "the oppression of the Sith will never return, and I'll totally turn to the dark side to make sure of that" speech? If you think about it, the last good thing Anakin did was stop Mace from killing his enemy in anger and hatred, and therefore falling to the dark side. If he had stopped Palpatine from killing Mace, he would have fulfilled the Jedi prophecy and saved the order.
