Home: Aline grew up in the Gerudo valley, the canyon between the desert and the rest of the world. The weather there was not kind and it taught her to never take things at face value. Backstory: The residents of Gerudo Valley have always had a very unique relationship with the rest of the land. Being a Tribe comprised completely of woman people often say that the Gerudos come to Castle Town looking for boyfriends. This is true in someways but a gross understatement of what actually goes on. In the seedier parts of Castle Town there are certain areas were a Gerudo woman might go if she is looking to conceive a child. In this area a man need only drape a red cloth out his window to let a Gerudo know he is accepting. Publicly this is of course considered a crime and illegal by Hylian law. Privately however there is an unwritten rule among the Castle Town guards that says this area isn't to be policed at night and any Gerudo woman seen entering or leaving the area should not be detained. In the Gerudo Valley once a girl reaches the age of sixteen she is considered a woman and allowed to bear a child from one of these Hylian men. There was a girl in the Gerudo Valley named Aline. She was raised by the tribe's healer along with her sister Alex and as such both had quite a good understanding of the healing arts as well as the effects of a variety of plants. There was an accident in the desert during Alex's coming of age ceremony. The girl was meant to reach the Spirit Temple and retrieve a sacred object as proof, however on this journey something happened that caused Alex's death. Officially she was overcome by monsters in the desert but Aline knew her sister, she was one of the most skilled combatants the Gerudos had and a master of sand and illusion magic, she would not be killed by simple monsters. After Alex died Aline felt very alone in the world. She was not close with any of the girls her age. She considered therefore that if she had a child she may be able to fill this pit in her stomach. She was granted permission by the tribe's shaman and was given a horse. She rode to Castle Town arriving in the gates just before night fall. The street she was looking for was not hard to find. She picked a window at random and climbed the building, slipping quietly into the house. The man she found waiting for her was she supposed not bad looking but he was rude and vulgar and she decided she did not want any child of hers fathered by him. He was not the sort of man to take no for an answer. He attempted to force himself on her and she in self-defense drew a small dagger she'd used to fasten her hair and stabbed him in the stomach three times. She attempted to wash the blood off her hands as best she could. The body was found earlier than she would have liked. The man it turned out had been a Castle Town solider and she spent the night feverishly dodging patrols that hunted for her. The next day as soon at the gates were open she rode home pushing her horse to its limits. When the shaman of the Gerudo Tribe came to see if Aline was indeed pregnant she found blood encrusted under Aline's nails. She called for the guard and sentence was handed down upon Aline. Murder was the most heinous crime a Gerudo could commit and Aline was sentenced to death without the chance to defend herself. She would be beheaded at dawn. That night the healer of the tribe came to Aline. She brought with her the key to the cells, a weeks worth of food and smuggled Aline into the horse's stalls. She told her daughter to take a horse and ride as far a she could. Alien with tears in her eyes did as her mother commanded and took refuge in Kakariko Village. After several days she ventured into Faron Woods. to gather herbs she could use to dye her hair. She knew that relations between her people and the Hylians were tenuous. Because of where the death occurred the guard would assume a Gerudo responsible. In order to keep the peace the Gerudos would give them Aline's name and a sketch of her face for the wanted posters. That was two years ago, now she moves from place to place, stealing what she needs, she uses her sisters name as her own with almost all those she meets. Her heart is always in the right place when it comes to what needs to be done but her methods are often questionable by those with a more ethical viewpoint. She wears the key to the Gerudo Cells around her neck as a reminder of why she can never return home. Current Location: Well that's sort of the dark side of the Zelda series. How's it look? Okay so is Castle Town the only option for locations and by darkness did you mean like a literal darkness like twilight or like a monster or what?
