A modification of facial recognition software Avalon's computers monitor all areas deemed critical to the base's function or a danger. Part of that function is a visual inventory which cross checks all images for inconsistencies such as missing inventory especially in the Armory While the thief of inventory in the armory wasn't seen the theft was detected in a random interval inventory sweep which sent out the alarm to the Base Security Chief

SECURITY ALERT VISUAL INVENTORY ARMORY A-W7 says the base security system to Avalon's Commander Claire Bendix. 

Commander Bendix sends a team to check on the Armory and orders base patrols doubled and on high alert as the special teams perform a search of Avalon. 
Soon the teams found the missing devices using special sensors that were keyed to specific traits inherent in them.

"We have an unauthorized entity in the base likely a Meta, I want take down squads deployed in all levels. This will not be allowed on my watch and if the saboteur escapes I'll have someone's head in a basket" says the security chief
