The ritualistic, warlike people of his home planet did however, imbue in him a sense of honor, and his time with the Order has seemed only to strengthen his code of honor. It remains to be seen, however, if he has inherited the Kaleesh temper. He is also an idealist, of a sort, crusading to right the "Injustices done to my people, both on and off my home world." Despite his initial treatment and scars at the hands of the Huk, he is determined to end the practice of enslaving his people and put an end to the preconceived notions that continue to plague his peoples' image. History:
At this time in Galactic History, the Kaleesh had yet to play any major role, usually being brought up as slaves in the Sith Empire, often by the Huk. Yet because this is the Mandalorian Wars and the Sith are thought to be extinct, we shall press onward. Born on Kalee under the name Valek Xannoh, raised by his people. As a child, his father taught him to use Lig swords, and at the age of eight, he obtained his mask. It was around this time as well, that he began to display force sensitivity, but the Kaleesh dismissed it as being favored by the pantheon they worshipped. Continuously, he was trained with the Lig swords, becoming quite the expert with them. By age ten, he was his father's favored son. Unfortunately, the Huk attacked his tribe shortly afterward, massacring the women and children deemed too weak. The men who could fight, did. Valek himself put up a significant fight, killing at least five of the intruders before being beaten into submission. Despite his efforts,Valek was sold into slavery, and was forced to watch as his people were treated as little more than chattel. He was lucky, and placed on the Galactic Market, being renamed into what he is now called, but soon was bought by a Jedi knight, sensing his force ability. He was taken to the temple, and brought into the order. It was here, at the temple that he learned of a new kind of injustice done to his people, though not on the same level of barbarism as slavery. It was here that he learned of prejudice and speciesism. He was not treated unfairly, at least, not to his face, but he still was ridiculed for the preconceived notions of what exactly his people are. During his teens as a Padawan, he often shared his doubts with his mentor, a Jedi named Gaeton Varga, who understood his plight. Understanding, however, did not translate to slack. His time as a Padawan was rough, his mentor's teachings at times seeming to clash with his innate culture, and at times seeming to harmonize with his sense of honor. Eventually, however he reconciled the teachings of the light with his culture. Due to the war, however, his mentor, Gaeton Varga, was killed. Ironically, he was not present because Varga had thought he would not need him-it was supposed to be a routine diplomacy mission. Following the death of his previous master,Valek was brought back from his mission on Kalee. Informed of his former master's death,he was sent back to the temple, where he awaited a new master. As the days turned into weeks, Valek began to hear of Revan. Of the "Republic Mercy Corps." The ideals of this interventionist movement intrigued him, and with the death of his mentor, he knew something had to be done. So he joined, a Padawan, and was sent to IRSOG 37. As a Kaleesh, he, like his people believe that war is necessary for balance, that peace cannot exist without conflict to balance it. Unlike his people, however, he believes that in every conflict, there are good men. Good SHOULD prevail. Relationships and Acquaintances: Jedi Knight Ayessa Shayal-The Miraluka has taken him as her Padawan, if only out of necessity. Though the two have yet to meet. Leto-the two dueled when their praexums met as part of a training exercise. He soundly bested Leto, but the two parted on good terms.
